Lo que cultivamos cuando nadie mira

Hola querida comunidad @ladiesofhive

What We Cultivate When No One Is Watching

Hello dear @ladiesofhive community
There is an idea that has stayed with me for a long time: health does not begin when we get sick, but much earlier, in those quiet days when everything seems fine and, precisely because of that, we forget to pay attention.
Self Care
In my case, self-care has not always been a conscious act. For many years, it was more related to responsibility than to kindness. As a doctor, it is easy to recognize symptoms in others, but not always as easy to pause and observe oneself.
When I am not sick, the way I care for myself is not perfect or structured, but it is intentional.
It begins with something very simple: paying attention.
To how I feel when I wake up.
To whether the tiredness is physical or emotional.
To whether I need silence or company.
My routine is not made of big rituals, but of small adjustments. I try to respect my rest time, even if I don’t always succeed. I look for brief pauses between responsibilities, even during hospital days, where everything seems to move in a rush.
I have also learned not to ignore emotional exhaustion. The mind, like the body, needs spaces where it is not constantly on alert. Sometimes that space is reading, other times it is simply being quiet and allowing myself to be at ease.
Caring for myself is no longer a reaction.
It is a way of being present.
Hobby Crush
There is something that has always deeply caught my attention: photography.
Not only as a technique, but as a way of seeing the world. I am fascinated by the ability some people have to capture moments that would normally go unnoticed. A shadow, an expression, a light that lasts only seconds.
It is a hobby I would like to explore more, but one I have not fully embraced.
Perhaps because it requires something that is sometimes scarce in my routine: unhurried time. Photography is not only about taking a picture, it is about pausing, observing, and waiting for the right moment. And I don’t always know how to live within that slower rhythm.
There is also a part of me that doubts. That feels I wouldn’t do it “well enough.” But over time I have learned that this idea is often more limiting than real.
Maybe it’s not about mastering the technique, but about learning to see more attentively.
Maybe that is where it truly begins.
I believe that both self-care and hobbies share something in common: they bring us back to ourselves. They remind us that not everything in life is urgency, productivity, or immediate response.
Sometimes, what matters most is what we cultivate in silence.
Thank you for these questions that invite us to look at ourselves with more honesty and less pressure.
A sincere hug to all

It must be a busy world for you as a doctor, that's a lot of responsibility on you but I'm glad you find time to care for yourself.
Photography is a cool hobby, just needs time which would be a bit hard for you to give it. I hope you find fun anyways.
