Pine forest on the banks of the Yenisei | PhotoFeed Contest - Landscape Photography Round 130

Hello, friends! Today I want to show you the photos I took during a walk along the Yenisei River, or more precisely, along the Krasnoyarsk Reservoir. When the Yenisei River was blocked in the 1960s to build the Krasnoyarsk Hydroelectric Power Station, the river's coastal area upstream began to fill with water. As a result, the Krasnoyarsk Reservoir was formed, which is about 300 kilometers long and has a surface area of about 2,000 square kilometers.

Once upon a time, this pine forest was located several kilometers from the river bank, but now the water has come right up to the forest.

As a result, it turned out that on one side the forest is limited by the Krasnoyarsk reservoir, and on the other three sides the pine forest is limited by steppe and small mountains. A small forest enclave was formed, on the right bank of the Yenisei River. Hares, foxes and roe deer live in the forest, and gray herons build nests and hatch chicks on the pines.
