More ahead than behind... LOH 277

Living for what's ahead

If I could travel through time, I would choose the future. And honestly, it’s not because the past wasn’t beautiful. The past can be full of sweet memories, laughter, lessons, friendships, and moments that shaped who we are. But no matter how beautiful yesterday was, I wouldn’t want to go back and live there again.

Why? Because I believe there is more ahead of me than behind me.
The past has already happened, it has played its role, it has taught its lessons, it has given me memories I can smile about and experiences I can learn from, but it is finished. Even if I go back, I can’t truly change anything. I would only be revisiting something that has already been written. And as comforting as that might feel, life is not meant to be replayed like an old movie.

The future, on the other hand, is unwritten. It carries possibilities, it carries growth, it carries surprises I haven’t even imagined yet.
I want to see who I become.
I want to see the version of myself that is stronger, wiser, more confident, and more fulfilled.
I want to see the dreams that come true, the goals that are achieved, and even the challenges that shape me into something better. There is something exciting about not knowing everything yet, the unknown is not always scary, sometimes it is beautiful.

Choosing the future does not mean I hate my past. It simply means I appreciate it but I am not stuck in it. The past helped build me, but it is not my final destination. Every stage of life prepares you for the next one. So why would I want to go backward when there is still so much ahead?
Also, the future represents hope. It represents improvement. Technology will grow, Education will improve, People will discover new things.
Problems we struggle with today might have solutions tomorrow. Imagine seeing how far the world has gone, how people live, how they think, how things have changed, that curiosity alone makes the future attractive.

But beyond the world’s growth, I am more curious about my own growth.
Will I be proud of myself?
Will I have become everything I once prayed for?
Will I look back and smile at the struggles that once felt heavy?
That thought alone is enough to make me choose the future.

Sometimes people want to go back because they regret something or miss certain moments. That’s understandable, But life moves forward, growth happens forward, purpose unfolds forward.
The best chapters of our lives are usually not the ones behind us, they are the ones we are yet to write.

So if I had the chance to travel through time, I would step into tomorrow with excitement rather than step back into yesterday with nostalgia.
The past made me.
The present is shaping me.
But the future?
The future is where I discover who I truly become. ✨
