Languages I speak ... #240
And the one I really want to learn
So far, I can say I speak three languages: English, Hausa, and my native tribal language. These are the languages I use every day to speak with people, share my thoughts, and express how I feel. I learned them naturally as I grew up, just like many people learn to speak the languages around them.
But if there is one language I truly wish to learn more than anything else, it is French.
I have loved French for a very long time, since I was a child. There’s just something about the way the words sound. When someone speaks French fluently, it feels smooth, soft, and beautiful. I often find myself trying to mimic the way French sounds, even when I don’t know exactly what they’re saying. The language has a charm that pulls me in.
In fact, I’ve known a few people from my area who studied French. One of them is my own sister. When she speaks French, I can’t help but smile and listen closely. The way she moves her mouth, the rhythm of her words, it’s amazing. Sometimes I even feel like she speaks French better than her own native language. Watching her speak made me fall in love with the language even more. It showed me that learning a new language is truly possible, even if it seems difficult at first.
There are also small things I already know in French. I can say a few words and simple sentences, and I can understand some basic conversations. But I really want more than that. I want to speak it fluently, to understand it deeply, and to be able to have full conversations with confidence. I don’t just want to study it in a classroom, I want to use it in real life. I want to visit places where people speak French and feel at home.
I really admire that language
French is special to me. It feels different, rich, and full of emotion. I love how it sounds, how it flows, and how it brings people together. It's not just a language to me, it's something I admire. I see it as a gift of culture, beauty, and connection.
Learning French is one of the languages I would love to learn better. I know it will take time, effort, and practice, but I’m ready for that. The love I have for French will keep me going. And one day, I believe I will speak it well, just like my sister, or maybe even better.
So, yes, I speak three languages now, but French is the one I truly want to learn the most. It’s been in my heart for years, and would really love to learn
If life permits me, I would love to learn it better and speak it confidently. I would also love to visit places where French is spoken and be able to connect with people in their own language, or even with people around
