The Bay Cat [ENG-ESP]

Greetings, dear friends of Hive Pets. Today I’m sharing a small photo gallery of a cute cat that came up to me while I was having dinner with some friends; I called him “the cat from the bay.” A few months ago, I was on Margarita Island—officially, in the state of Nueva Esparta, Venezuela. I went there for a few days’ vacation and, by chance, ran into some friends who were there on business.
Whenever I go to the island, I stay in Porlamar, but my friends stay in Juan Griego. They have several stores in Cumaná, Sucre State, Venezuela, but business has been so good that they managed to open a branch in Margarita’s most famous bay. We agreed to spend some quality time together, but that night I would stay in Juan Griego with them because it’s far from Porlamar—about 30 minutes away—and public transportation runs only until 6 p.m. They invited me to a very nice place called Sunset, and while we were waiting for our food, a cute little kitten came up to us.
At first I thought it was just passing by and would leave, but then we started hearing some meows—very soft ones—and realized it was the kitten that had decided to stay with us. It was nighttime, and we couldn’t get a good look at it until it climbed up onto one of the walls. It was well-groomed; it must have wandered out of someone’s house for a stroll. I asked, “Where did you come from?” and it just turned its little face away as if it didn’t want to answer.
He kept us company the whole time we were there. We had ordered pizza, and the kids had a portion of fries. We thought maybe he'd want some, but the Bay Cat, as I called him, just sniffed the food and opened his little mouth as if to say, "I don't like this." The cat is very cute. I took several pictures of him; many came out blurry because the kitty was very restless. Eventually, he calmed down, and those were the best shots I could get. I hope you like them.

Saludos estimados amigos de Hive Pets. Hoy les comparto una pequeña galería de fotos de un lindo gato que se me acercó mientras cenaba con unos amigos, lo llamé el gato de la bahía. Hace unos meses estuve en la isla de Margarita, formalmente, el estado Nueva Esparta en Venezuela. Fui de paseo por unos días y por casualidad coincidí con unos amigos que estuvieron allá por asunto de negocios.
Siempre que voy a la isla me alojo en Porlamar, pero mis amigos se quedan en Juan Griego. Ellos tienen varias tiendas en Cumaná, estado Sucre, Venezuela, pero les ha ido tan bien que lograron abrir una sucursal en la bahía más famosa de Margarita. Nos pusimos de acuerdo para compartir un buen rato, pero esa noche me quedaría en Juan Griego con ellos porque se encuentra distante de Porlamar, a unos 30 minutos aproximadamente, además, el transporte público trabaja hasta las 6 pm. Me invitaron a un lugar muy bonito llamado Sunset, mientras esperábamos la comida se nos acercó un lindo gatito.
En principio pensé que solo iba pasando por allí y se iría, pero comenzamos a escuchar algunos maullidos, muy bajitos, era el gatito que decidió quedarse con nosotros. Era de noche y no podíamos mirarlo bien hasta que se subió a uno de los muros. Estaba bien cuidado, seguro se salió de alguna casa para pasear. Le pregunté “de donde saliste?” y solo volteó su carita como si no quisiera contestar.
Nos hizo compañía durante todo el tiempo que pasamos allí, habíamos pedido pizza y los niños una ración de papas fritas, pensamos que quizás querría un poco, pero el gato de la Bahía como lo llamé yo, solo se limitaba a oler la comida y a abrir su pequeña trompita como diciendo “esto no me gusta”. El gato es muy bonito, le tomé varias fotos, muchas salieron movidas porque el minino estuvo muy inquieto. De momento, se quedó tranquilo y fueron las mejores capturas que pude obtener de el. Espero les gusten.
