Hiveartgallery has visited Young Art Fair!

This weekend in Katowice, a real-deal art fair is happening — Young Art Fair @youngartfair! Since Hiveartgallery is from Katowice, of course we had to be there.
Come on, take a look at our little report from today's visit at the exhibition.

The exhibition is in a perfect spot: at the Szyb Wilson Gallery, a contemporary art gallery in Katowice at 1 Oswobodzenia Street, in the Janów-Nikiszowiec district. It opened in 2001 in the revitalized building of the Wilson shaft's lamp room and bathhouse from the "Wieczorek" mine—a place whose history goes all the way back to 1826.
And don't forget — Hive users get in for free, while other visitors pay a small fee.

Among the works at the fair, paintings definitely take the spotlight — but you'll also come across sculptures, mixed media pieces, and more.

First up, we met with Paweł Widersa, who creates wonderful, magical, fairytale-like paintings and illustrations — including those for Waldemar Cichonia's books. Charming scenes, vivid colors. Take a look at his work on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/pawelwideramalarstwo/

Next, we had a quick chat with Mateusz Lewandowski, an artist who creates vibrant, original, and modern paintings that practically scream to come live in our home. They really stuck with us and completely stole our hearts. 💘 https://www.instagram.com/siemalujesiema/ Perhaps one day...

Of course, we can't talk about our meetings without mentioning the chat with lovely Władzia @hrechkosii.wla, whose colorful paintings really catch the eye—not just in our contest, but also here at the exhibition. They're even more striking in person.

And the last, we also want to give a shout-out to the work of Anna Underowicz https://www.instagram.com/underowicz/, who really caught our eye with her paintings of grasses and Katowice's apartment blocks.

You can't walk out of there empty-handed! We left the fair with two cowboy watercolors (ah, the love for Yellowstone), a linocut of a running dog, and a holiday decoration—a ceramic and wood Christmas tree. Our eyes wanted more, but you need to have the space for it ;)

If you're anywhere near Katowice, don't hesitate—check out the fair! It's still on tomorrow!
