If you thought we went to the VIII Crypto Summit in Moscow just to hand out stickers, sit down—this got serious. We didn’t go looking for likes; we went to demonstrate that Hive is the trusted blockchain the real world needs when traditional financial bridges fall apart.
Many wonder what a band of Cuban and Latinx hivers is doing among the giants of Russian mining. The answer is simple: Sovereignty.

A reconnaissance journey

Many ask what a group of Cuban and Latinx hivers is doing among the giants of the Russian crypto market. The answer is simple: sovereignty and experience.
We have spent decades navigating blockages. That “PhD in survival” gave us a competitive edge. While big banks panic, we learned how to move. That know‑how is our most valuable asset and what we brought to the table with the Nakama Protocol. We went to Moscow to tell them: “Take it, test it, and use it.”

Nakama The Protocol we put on the table

To get the giants to listen, we spoke with technical precision. We presented Nakama as an infrastructure protocol, a Multichain custody (Escrow) protocol:

• Escrow Logic (EVM): Smart contracts that ensure funds don’t move until agreed conditions are met. It’s a mathematical arbitrator that never sleeps.
• Hive as Reputation Ledger: Use our blockchain as an immutable, public database to verify traders’ histories without relying on centralized entities. It’s public, cheap, and cannot be erased. If a trader is trustworthy or a scammer, their history is recorded on Hive forever, and our protocol reads it in seconds to authorize or block a transaction.

What the Crypto Summit confirmed for us

We didn’t say it alone; the expert panels at the event confirmed it. There were moments in the talks that seemed written for Nakama:

• The panel on Cross‑Border Payments and BRICS: They discussed the urgency of moving away from SWIFT and how Russia needs neutral rails to trade with Latin America.
• The discussion on Mining and Regulation: Infrastructure leaders like Algoritm and BitRiver talked about the need for transparency so the Central Bank doesn’t block them.
• The debate on P2P and Security: It was unanimous: fraud is the biggest barrier to mass commerce.

Each talk confirmed one thing: the market has capital, but it lacks the Layer of Trust. And that layer is precisely what we are building with Nakama.

Identifying niches

We didn’t go to ask for favors; we went to help them identify business opportunities that only a protocol like ours can unlock. We knocked on the doors of the heavyweights and showed them this:

• BingX, Bitbanker, and ABCEX can connect their liquidity to Latin America using Nakama as a security and reputation filter they currently lack, and secure their B2B payments and loans without relying on slow bureaucracy for cross‑border payments.
• Giants like Algoritm can use our Multichain Escrow to manage energy and hosting payments in emerging markets transparently and automatically. It lets them move mining capacity and technology into new markets and comply with regulators across the chain. With Nakama it could be “plug and play.”
• Platforms like EXVED or Garantex could stop operating manually and move to decentralized assets (DAI, LUSD, HBD) with real, code‑enforced guarantees for cross‑border trade.

To give a sense of the potential, we’ll detail one case:
We spoke with high‑level people from Algoritm—the owners of the “iron,” the folks who build massive data centers in the Arctic. What do they want? To expand, move capacity to Latin America to take advantage of our renewable energy (sun and water), and diversify risk, because right now they have almost all their eggs in one basket.
What’s their problem? Control. The Central Bank and regulators require reporting every cent, and moving capital to our region without it getting lost or blocked by SWIFT is a headache. In fact, many of these giants are sanctioned by OFAC. However, governments are shifting from banning to channeling crypto transactions.

We are truly at a great beginning

It may seem that HiveP2P and the Nakama protocol upgrade are a final goal, but we’re mistaken—this is only an initial outcome for something bigger.

We appreciate the trust of the @hivecuba community and everyone pushing this dream forward, especially @manuphotos and @ertytux. We haven’t wasted time. That said, we want to be very clear with the community: this is an exploration. We have knocked on the heaviest doors, delivered our technical documentation, and proposed concrete MVPs. And although everything is still in progress, we believe we have succeeded in putting the names Nakama, HiveCuba, and the potential of the Hive ecosystem on the table.

We are confident that in this sea of financial needs, some fish will bite the hook. But whatever happens, the journey has already begun. We haven’t wasted time; we made a move and validated that our model of social reputation + technical security is what the international market is shouting out for. We must be ready to take the leap.

Llevamos décadas sorteando bloqueos. Ese "doctorado en supervivencia" nos dio una ventaja competitiva. Mientras los grandes bancos se asustan, nosotros aprendimos a movernos. Les permite mover su potencia de minado y tecnología hacia mercados y cumplir con los reguladores en toda la cadena. Con Nakama pudiera ser solo “plug and play”.

Estuvimos conversando con gente de alto nivel de Algoritm. Estamos hablando de los dueños del "hierro", tipos que construyen centros de datos masivos en el Ártico. ¿Qué quieren ellos?: Expandirse, mover su potencia a Latinoamérica para aprovechar nuestras energías renovables (sol y agua) y diversificar su riesgo, porque por el momento tienen casi todos los huevos en la misma cesta.
¿Cuál es su problema? El control. El Banco Central y las regulaciones les exigen reportar cada centavo, y mover capital hacia nuestra región sin que se pierda en el camino o sea bloqueado por SWIFT es un dolor de cabeza. De hecho, muchos de estos gigantes están sancionados por la OFAC. Sin embargo, los gobiernos están pasando de prohibir a canalizar las criptotransacciones.

Estamos realmente en un gran comienzo

Pudiera parece que HiveP2P y la actualización al protocolo Nakama es un buen objetivo final pero nos equivocamos, este es solo un resultado inicial para algo más grande.

Agradecemos la confianza de la comunidad de @hivecuba y de todos los que impulsan este sueño, especialmete a @manuphotos y @ertytux. No hemos perdido el tiempo. Sin embargo, queremos ser muy claros con la comunidad: esto es una exploración. Hemos tocado las puertas más pesadas, hemos entregado nuestra documentación técnica y hemos propuesto MVPs concretos. Y aunque todo esté aun en proceso creemos que hemos logrado que el nombre de Nakama y HiveCuba y el potencial del ecosistema Hive ahora estén en la mesa.

Estamos seguros de que en este mar de necesidades financieras, algún pez morderá el anzuelo. Pero pase lo que pase, la travesía ya comenzó. No hemos perdido el tiempo; movimos ficha y hemos validado que nuestro modelo de reputación social + seguridad técnica es lo que el mercado internacional está gritando por tener. Debemos estar listos para dar el salto.
