shine your copper and silver utensils May: Kitchen Hacks and DIYs
Hi, community! Greetings! This is my entry for this month's initiative, May: Kitchen Hacks and DIYs.
I created a very easy, toxin-free soap powder for dishwashing, especially designed for copper, brass, and silver utensils. As a Hindu, I perform my rituals almost every day, but on special occasions, I need additional time and more items, including copper plates, copper water pots, silver plates, and brass lamps.
It has always been difficult to manage these items after they've been sitting on the shelf for a long time, as they often turn green or develop black spots. I used to use commercial copper polish, but it would leave my hands and fingers covered in black residue for several hours.
Today, I had an idea to make my DIY polish that can effectively make these items shine, and leave no black residue on hands. Would like to share this trick with you, as it may be useful for those who are serious about maintaining their utensils!
we need a few things that we find in our kitchen.
Gram flour
Citric acid
Salt
Baking soda
Dishwashing soap.
On a plate, place these things: 1 tsp salt, 1 tsp citric acid
1 tsp baking soda and 2 tsp gram flour/besan
Add 1 tsp dishwashing liquid.
Mix all the ingredients until they are combined very well.
Fill any recycled plastic container or jar and keep it together with cleaning supplies.
for cleaning this plate
sprinkle 1/2 tsp mixture in it.
Using a regular scrubbing sponge, rub it for 2 minutes.
Wash with cold water and it becomes shiny.
For this copper water holder
1/2 tsp of the mixture.
rub for around 2 minutes
rinse it and finish.
Same with this silver plate
No black residue on hands
rinse and shine
I should like to try it on oily cooking utensils. and see the result.
And I tried it, it works.
Tell me how you like this powder/mixture, and what shall I name it?
Thank you.
Thanks for home Remedy for washing copper utensils.. i will made this Solution for sure...
Thank you, Gargi agar emlike beej ka powder mile to thoda try karo.:)
Baking soda is a great ally for cleaning but I am surprised that it also serves to give shine to these copper elements, if they are too shiny, you can call them "brillosito" or "brillantisimo".
thank you, and appreciate your names. :)
This was a custom in our country too. A few years ago, when there was no wedding, similar copper and silver utensils were given, and even today, people still have them as souvenirs. The taste of what is cooked in them is quite distinctive and different from other things.
we don't use it for cooking, only for our rituals and water storing.
This is very useful and looks nice after wash, thanks so much for sharing.
thank you for your comment :)
está genial! útil y diferente
