THIS IS MY FRIEND LOH#274

Some friendships don’t start with big moments.
They start quietly, and then refuse to leave your life.

This is the person I shared the most with this past year.
The one who was by my side through thick and thin.

Thirteen years is a long time to know someone.
Long enough to grow together, fight, drift, reconnect, and still choose each other.

We met in 2013, just 2 teenagers with a dream of going to study Abroad.
Initially I didn't think we would get along. He was alway serious, So I thought.
Me, i was the free spirited person who always drew people in..

He was applying to a German school and I was too, soon we started talking and exchanging ideas.
As we got closer, I realized we both were alike. I got to know he was not what he portrayed..
People saw him as this very serious and uptight guy who was not friendly, and People saw me as the jovial one. The Calm, Playful, and Energetic one..
This was all wrong..

I was never good at being around people, I have always been the serious one, The uptight one while he gets extremely goofy any opportunity he gets.
This was gold for me because i love being spontaneous, i love being a mystery, and i had just found someone who was just like me..

What makes our friendship different is not just how long it has lasted, but how normal everything still feels. We have seen each other at our worst moments and our best moments, and somehow it never became awkward, it never became heavy.

There is no pressure to pretend, no need to perform strength or success around each other.
We show up as we are, all the time.

We’ve watched each other fail, grow, change directions, lose confidence, rebuild, and still sit in the same space laughing like nothing happened.

That kind of comfort is rare. It means you don’t have to explain your silence. You don’t have to edit your truth. You don’t have to prove anything.

I think real friendship is not about being impressive to each other. It’s about being honest without fear of being judged.

It’s about staying when life becomes messy and unpredictable, when people usually disappear or become distant.

It’s about choosing understanding over ego, patience over pride, and presence over convenience.
With Abaz, I never had to question where I stood or where loyalties lay.

Even in the hardest seasons, our bond felt steady and real. The kind of real that doesn’t need constant validation. The kind that survives long gaps, different phases of life, and personal changes.

Some friendships fade when you grow. Ours adjusted. Like elastic, It stretched, adapted, matured, but it never broke. And that taught me something important.
Real connections are not built on constant communication, they are built on mutual respect, shared history, and the quiet decision to keep showing up for each other even when life pulls you in different directions.

I have shared a lot of memories with this person, and i can say it dosnt get old..

Images are mine.

How wonderful that such a beautiful friendship blossomed from silence and has endured through the years. I wish I had a friendship that transcends time and grows stronger despite the passing years, like yours. It was a pleasure reading your message. Good luck in the contest. Blessings 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

Friendships like these are a currency. If you treat it well it appreciates, and you enjoy the return of your investment.

If not, it depreciates, drifts, and grows apart.

Sometimes for the good.

I wish you many adventures.
