HAPPY POST VALENTINE'S DAY |LOH CONTEST #276

Valentine just came and passed this year. Infact, it was just like a regular day for me. I was barely online, i spent the day with my Mom at her place and i didnt step outside the house all day.

I had no grand plans.
No excessive caption posts that engage in self-delusional efforts of making people believe that love is perfect.

I was just alone, sitting and forming thoughts in my mind about the people who have been there in my life. not just romantically, but also emotionally too.

The more I become older, to be honest, the more I change my definition of love as well.
Now, it is not about having butterflies in my tummy and tremendous gestures.
It’s about presence.
How to act when life is not pretty.

So this Valentine What would I really give?

In the event that you read this I want to say thank you, to my partner, you have provided me with a type of love that is not hectic, but rather serene. The one which does not involve constant demonstrations, but is realized in a minute, regular forms. The form which is domestic, and not dramatic.

To my friends who have seen me both in my worse forms and in my best forms and still laugh with me, thank you, you have left room to fit all types of me. On the night interviews, the haphazard visits, the silence, and in pain.

To my family thank you for being my first lesson that love cannot be perfect at all times.
For the sacrificesyou make, even when it is unpleasant.
For the lessons which I still must learn and relearn almost every day.

And to me, Because i deserve to be loved and appreciated too. thanks for not yielding to your own heart.
Thanks for knowing how to love even in pain.
And also thanks for knowing how to love and not lose self.

Valentine's Day need not be too much.
There are moments when love is that straightforward.
Even as simple as a text that says "Are you okay?"
It happens that the only thing one needs sometimes is to listen and not to fix.
Sometimes it just about showing up and being there even at a less convenient time.
Sometimes it’s staying when leaving would be easier.
Sometimes it’s choosing kindness when pride wants to speak.

So if I had to send anything this Valentine, it wouldn’t be flowers or chocolates.

It would simply be this words:
May we all experience love that feels safe. May we give love without fear. May we receive love without suspicion. And may we learn that the most beautiful relationships are built, not displayed.
