ZOOLOGICAL GARDEN UNIVERSITY OF IBADAN

These picture tells a story about how I visited the Zoological Garden in the University of ibadan after many attempts to visit it. It is not enough at the school it was hectic because of the many procedures I had to go through and having to incorporate with the lifestyle in ibadan.
It was my first time in the city as I came to study, so being a stranger made it difficult for me to adjust immediately to my environment. So the stress of renting a room, finding a roommate, locating my department, faculty, postgraduate school and so on, made the first few months a bit hectic for me.
Like we all know, the University of ibadan is very strict when it comes to carrying out their educational policies, lectures were going as planned in accordance with the set academic calendars and there was really no time for play especially as a newbie.
While trying to balance my life with my educational career, writing assignments, group presentations, seminar papers and so on, I noticed that the first semester was already as time for exams had set in. We wrote our exam and had a little break.
Before the next sessions i made a plan to not be swamped with just studying as I was in my first semester rather I need to incorporate a lifestyle alongside studying in second semester. This is so because as a stranger in ibadan, I needed to know the environment properly so that it would not be like I just came to study from home to school and from school back to home not having a life at all. This was when I arranged with some friends that we go for a small picnic or to do something fun and this suggested that we visit the zoological gardens in the University of ibadan.
On the set day, we all gathered at the school gate and boarded a bus that took us straight to the University of ibadan zoological gardens and on getting there we paid our ticket which was like 500 naira and entered. Or do, we were not be given a guide to accompany us and explain the environment but we still had fun. We saw quite a lot of animals ranging from birds, Lions, horses, ostrich, crocodile, snakes, monkeys and so on.
It was so much fun because we also brought an item 7,in Nigeria what is an outing without an item 7. Apparently, we had contributed money to make a small pot of jollof rice and chicken and to buy soft drinks. All of this was to ease off the stress of the old semester and the incoming new semester.
In conclusion, this is the story behind the picture of the horses I posted, they were kinda friendly as we even fed them some food and they accepted it. The only non friendly animal there was one monkey.
This is my participation in the @hivestudents community weekly contest, to join in check through this link
This prompt is all about sharing that one picture from your school life and telling us the story behind it. It could be a snapshot of your lecture hall, your favourite meal on campus, a group of friends, etc.
