WALKING TO DESTRESS
Stress is a very vital and important part of our life that we as human beings needs to take care of before it consumes and overwhelms us. The pressure we go through is enough to tamper with our health both mental and physically. The core issue is how we navigate life issues so that they would not cause us eace of mind.
One thing I have come to realise is that, peace of mind is paramount because no matter how hard we try to work to make a living or the kind of activities we involve ourselves, life can just happens be it death or sickness. When one gets sick, you spend all your life savings taking treatment that may not get better, even when death happens the people who take over your properties and wealth might spend it extravagantly.
As a working class or a business man or woman, it is advisable to take a break from that job once a while especially when things become overwhelming. For instance, what we see in big companies when a worker dies and he or she is quickly replaced by a new worker goes to show that we need to take care of ourselves before anything else.
One technique that works well for me, although I do it consciously anytime I remember is by taking a pause to breathe. Deep breaths have been known to help calm the mood. Doing this for as small as two minutes can slow the rate of your heartbeat, it would help to clear your mind, and gain total control of your body.
Nature walk has always been a perfect way to reduce pressure and stress. I am glad that the path I follow through when returning from work is one that is filled with natural elements like trees, narrow paths and clear sky. So in the evenings, walking through that path helps me to de-stress and just relive all the work stress moment of the day.
Again, I do experience swollen legs by sitting all day, hence, the walk in nature serves as an exercise too.
These are the simple ways that helps me to de-stress especially in a country where people gets to work hard so as to live a comfortable lifestyle.
