SUCCESS RESHAPES LIFE

When we achieve a milestone or a hard work paid off we often celebrate our success because human beings are wired in a way that when things happens that brings about joy and happiness we celebrate them either personally or publicly. Success is a good thing and it should be celebrated but it can also bring about a change in the social aspect of a person's life. Like we experience, when a person attains success it can either bring about a positive or a negative change in their behavioral pattern. In our society, success can define you in a certain way as it changes the way people see you, treat you or perceive you.
I don't know about any other country, but in my country Nigeria when a person is highly successful they tend to be treated in a special way in different occasions be it religious, education, workplace, family, politics and so on. The respect from people who see you especially because you have money is different from that which is given to a normal person. Success is equivalent to having as much money as it can pave way for you in different occasions. Take for instance, there are some religious institutions that reserve seats for members who are wealthy and are prominent in the society, the front seats are often left for them to occupy while the normal people in the church can sit any other places they like.
Even in family backgrounds, you will notice that full respect is given to wealthy members of the family especially when it comes to partaking in duties that has to do with upholding the Family Values. For instance, I experienced an activity that happened amongst a particular traditional family member where they gathered for their late father's remembrance.
Apparently, there was this brother of theirs who came back from the United States and single-handedly sponsored the entire activities ranging from food, drinks, snacks, wine and so on. This in turn excluded the wife and children from partaking in the family ritual of cooking the entire food together with other family members making them special and respected in the kind of way.
This is why they say that you would not know a person's character until they achieve success and have lots of money. The way people change their characters negatively when they attain success, you would wonder if you were actually friends or you guys were just acquaintances. This is why I struggle to make sure that I live within my means and I am able to make a living that satisfies my needs and wants.

Hm. Money changes people, I agree. But one question people always evade us; do you think you’ll remain the same if you made it big? Like, real big.
Btw, I think I came across one of your videos on YouTube.
With money comes a lot of respect and special treatments, it does change people but not everyone give in completely to its intoxicating power.
