IPHONE 17 : DREAM VS REALITY

Recently, the apple released a new series for iPhone 17 which was launched officially on September 19,2025 which was just 2 weeks ago and the base price starts from US$799 for the 256 GB model, but in Nigeria we have been hearing mixed prices starting from 3 million naira to 6million naira,which is extremely on the high price considering the economic situation of things in the country.

But lo and behold, Nigerian would never carry last whenever such gadgets are released as they purchase them almost immediately, most celebrities have already purchased the smartphone and are already showing off on social media. Sometimes purchasing these gadgets are showoffs on social media to pepper themselves.

The reason why I have not been able to purchase the device is based on both my dreams and my reality. For some reasons I always dream of having such a sleek and elegant device whose features are mouth watering especially the camera feature. The iPhone is good for taking great photos to the extent that you do not need a professional photographer to take good photos. But like I said that is in my dreams because I do not think I had 3million in my account, the next action is to spend it on a mobile device, that asides from that would spend more on getting the charger and data expense. So I stick with my Camon 19 for now and appreciate the beauty of iPhone from afar.

No dribbling about the fact that bank account balance is a stumbling block to purchasing the device. But come to think of it, if I had such money, I would definitely choose to buy a land, if I buy 2 plots In a location that is not yet developed for 2million naira, I could use the remaining 1million to fence it round and secure the location. While my iPhone starts having issues in the next 3 to 4 years which cannot be inherited or passed on for generations, my land purchase would have appreciated in price and value, even passed on for generations.

In conclusion, with my present financial capabilities I chose land over luxury, when I invest in landed properties, my gain from these would allow me afford such luxury in the future.

iPhone 17 is out, and the price is extremely high, to the point that even countries with strong economies are feeling it. What’s stopping you from getting it? Of course we know you don't own it yet lol😂
