Rainy Cloudy Day - June 9, 2025 @goldenoakfarm
On Tuesday I didn’t get up until 6AM. I got the poor cat fed and my post up. I thought about doing laundry but my chair was too alluring. I got up and got ready at 7:45AM as the van would arrive at 8AM for the long trip to my appointment.
New Herb garden in the rain
It was nearly an hour each way and an hour appointment so a very long morning. I was home by 11AM and made some lunch. The van would be back at 12:45PM to take me to the event.
As I waited in the doorway, inside due to mosquitoes, the wren with the nest in the bag on the porch had plenty to say about it. I can’t believe the 2 photos I took of it came out enough to make it out on the top of the roof.
I had just put the camera back when a family of 6 sparrows flew into the New Herb garden and all perched on the plant hanger. By the time I got the camera and focused only 1 was left. They had been so cute. I was sorry to miss the photo.
The van arrived late but I made it inside to the event just as the introduction was ending, so I didn’t miss anything.
It was a very moving story of a family taking care of the grandfather with dementia. The son had created the performance with 2 other musicians and interspersed the stories of his dad with music that fit that part of the story with music his dad had liked.
I was very tired but managed to stay awake through the whole thing.
Coreopsis in the rain in the wildflower area
I was very tired when I got home and just lay on the couch watching Downton Abbey until bedtime.
My brother came home and he had found the parts for the truck latch repair, so I got up and ordered those. They will be here by Friday so maybe he can fix it over the weekend and we can get it inspected by Tuesday next week.
My helper friend will be here on Tuesday morning but it’s to rain all day. So I have been collecting a list of inside stuff to do. All this gloom is really dragging me down…
lol the struggle is real, 6AM sounds early to me tbh 😅 at least you got the cat sorted first, priorities are on point. I totally get the chair thing, once you sit down it's like gravity just doubles. Good on you for actually making it out the door by 8 though, I probably would've missed the van and had to reschedule everything, hope your appointment went well
Take care of elders with dementia is a big challenge, it's so sad to not be able to do anything to avoid or slow down it
I feel very lazy when it comes to doing laundry😅
I don’t even know why😅

The new herb and the flower gardens are looking good, well done
Whenever the clouds come and there is a light rain, the view becomes much more beautiful and memorable, especially in the summer.
Well, at least we don't have to water all the gardens with the steady rain.
