SMAP 222 - Back To The Philippine Eagle Center

Hello Feathered Friends Community. Let's welcome Round 222 of the Show Me A Photo Contest or SMAP hosted by @nelinoeva. See the link to the contest announcement provided at the end of this post.

The theme for this week is:

FREE THEME

During my daughter's visit to the Philippine Eagle Center, she took some photos of a couple of "interns" as they call them. These interns are individuals, mostly volunteers as this doesn't pay much, if at all, who are interested in conservation, research, training and education of not only the Philippine Eagle but wildlife in general. The Center provides hands-on experience in raptor care, conservation breeding, and daily upkeep at the center. Other raptor species that have been included in the internship program are the Philippine Serpent Eagle and the White-bellied Sea Eagle.

The photo below shows one of these interns with her "pet" raptor, the Philippine Serpent Eagle.

And another intern with her White-bellied Sea Eagle.

I have deliberately cropped the photos to avoid showing the interns' faces as I do not have permission to post them but it seems that since they pose for photos, it would be quite all right to post them. But just to be sure 😌

More on the Center in the Free Themes to come. For my entry, I think I will go with the last photo.

It's Sunday and may you all have a blessed one. Keep safe.

The link to the contest post is here. Check it out and join us in the fun.

These raptors are gorgeous. It is great when young people are interested in wildlife and to be a part of such programs.
