Weekly HSBI Giveaway for the Splinterlands Community #18
Happy Monday everyone and welcome to the my weekly HSBI giveaway for the Splinterlands community!
After three weeks of vacation, I'm back! I had a great recovery and therefore this weekly giveaway can be continued again. There has been some Splinterlands news in the last few weeks. For example, the sale of Yaba's Pickle and Tasoshi Drakamoto has started. Lovers of promo cards should definitely take a look here. Furthermore, the Survivale Mode is back with some changes. What I was most pleased about is that the campaign has been expanded, especially since some video and audio sequences have been introduced. And last but not least, the Conflicts of Conclave Arcana will start soon, so there will be news about that soon.
Answers to the last Question:
Last week's question was "What do you think of the new Tasoshi Drakamoto promo card?". This time 8 people took part and answered the question. Let's have a look at some of your answers.
Tasoshi looks like a killer addition to the Fire Splinter with Sneak Magic and Stun (only Flame for Hire has Stun in Modern for Fire currently). I'll probably look at picking up enough copies for LVL 3 out the gate as Inspire will add some great synergy with Cavewise Wayfinder/Viscious Giraffe's Painforging. Stun being added at LVL 5 is a bit of a negative for me as that will make it quite expensive to get to without having the upfront Vouchers to spend.
Overall I am excited for the new Exclusive Promo and can't wait to see how they do in Modern.
I also think magic attackers with the Sneak ability are very strong. Reminds me of Captain Fellblade, among others. And the ability Inspire actually fits traditionally very well into Fire Splinter. I also think the Stun ability is very strong. And as you say, not many cards have this ability.
I, due to being a fairly low budget and new player(and thus currently have 3.5 vouchers) haven't delved into vouhcers much.
What I've seen, they are def for the players with a better budget.
As to the card in question, it seems a solid card, but if I were spending that much on a card I think I'd go for Taye Loreswift or level up some of my rares.
Yes, that's another question I ask myself. The card is definitely strong, but is it worth the high price? As you say, players like us on a budget need to look into it.
I think the card is pretty strong. Somewhat comparable to Arcane Skinwalker because they have the same mana cost, same attack type and power, and Inspire. However, it has Spite, Stun, and Sneak. Sneak on a magic unit is rare and very interesting. This one should be pretty strong.
I hadn't noticed the similarity with Arcane Skinwalker, you're right! Both are definitely strong cards.
Its definitely going to be a strong card at all levels, whether its as impactful in the meta as Keelan Gaines remains to be seen. I'll try and pick up a silver level copy of it if vouchers stay at a decent level. I think the skillset is very interesting although as I said I'll only be taking it up to the sneak/inspire.
Pairing Drakoshan summoner with water could see some really quick sneak teams.
I actually have to admit that I didn't think Keelan Gaines is particularly strong. But maybe that's because I only have the card on the first level. But where I definitely agree with you is the synergy with Water Splinter, there are also some strong Sneak Attackers.
My opinion:
As you've probably gathered by now, I think Tasoshi Drakamoto is a pretty good card. The combination of magic attack and Sneak is simply very strong. In addition, the rest of the abillities are all very good and the stats don't look bad either. I'll probably buy a copy of the card sooner or later, but not anymore, as I think it's too expensive for that.

What is your favorite ability in Splinterlands and why?
Ohhh this is tough one as there are so many that are really cool or fun. I'm gonna say execute because the elven bloodline with it has won me a lot of matches.

My current favourite ability is armored strike, mainly when using EMP as you can really change a battle with its impact. Playing at silver level adding an additional attack for 3/4 damage can be the one attack that swings things in your favour.
Tank heal, for sure!
To have an immortal unity in frontline is awesome.
Corrupted Healing probably, because it heals the entire team, very strong in some situations!
Painforge! I love that one. It's such a high-risk-high reward card, and allows to take advantage of what usually would be only a disadvantage (poison, electric shock and such). It also promotes a huge amount of combinations between cards that one wouldn't really think of. I think Painforge and its sister Reckless gave a lot more depth to the strategic posibilites in Splinterlands.
My favorite ability has to be mimic. It's a gamble not knowing what other abilities I'll gain but it leads to some really interesting battles. It's different every time.
Martyr and Bloodline Tribute are some of my favorites because certain strategies or rule sets allow players to get a lot of value out of them. and that's fun to do. I'll pick Martyr not only because it's the original one, but also for being versatile.
it is Bloodlust for me as it is a very powerful and game changer ability

I really like the Mimic ability. I enjoy the kind of randomness it can add to a battle and it can make them quite interesting with certain ability combos.

My current favorite ability has to be Final Rest.
My boy Craniax is the only card with the power currently but he is doing a massive amount of heavy lifting, ending the threat that is Hyppos and Poison Burst specifically. Being able to disrupt your opponents strategy (be it ruleset, commander strat, or individual cards abilities) is huge right now while playing in Mid-Gold and has lead me to win matches that I otherwise would have floundered in.
Magic Reflect, since I've joined at the game launch with the Alpha set. I like it, as it is basically an amazing counter for armoured up games.
