Imperfect photos of perfect moments.jpg

Hello! Hello!

I really identified with that phrase that #galenkp posted recently when he changed the name of the community.

Will I upload a crappy photo?

Of course not.

But what do you do with those photos that are just awful? You don't post them, but you don't dare delete them either because they have a story behind them. Well, I keep them, and I'm here to tell you a little bit about the story behind these photos, which, if they had turned out perfectly, would be my favorites in the world.

First trip

My boyfriend J.J. and I were just getting to know each other. We had only been dating for a few months when he gave me a trip to Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic. Sun, beach, and sand awaited us for the weekend, along with lots and lots of 🍻 in every corner of the hotel.

That night, there was a beach party with a bonfire. We were super excited about all the activities, the people were mostly young, they treated us very well, and overall, we were having the time of our lives, just like in the movies.

The Samsung S7 Ultra Plus EDGE was coming out, which could go underwater (TOTAL LIE), and the first day we tried it, it died! So as not to ruin our trip, we went ahead with another spare phone, so when we tried to take this first photo, it came out BLURRY! We wanted to capture the bonfire, the screen, the people dancing, us enjoying ourselves—in other words, EVERYTHING!—but I think it was the euphoria of alcohol because we weren't even focusing on a specific point 😆. We laughed for about half an hour at this photo, and we always keep it as a reminder of those first moments of our relationship and our adventures, which are many:

The next day, with better practice, we took more beautiful photos, full of life and color. But I would definitely never erase our first experiences with photography!

My niece's party

It was an event we had been eagerly awaiting since she was born, literally. She was the first girl in the family to celebrate her 15th birthday, so preparations began a year in advance.

Since things never go as planned, I couldn't even go to the hairdresser that day, so I just put on the first thing I found and went to her party. Everything was so wonderful, fun, exciting, sentimental, and my niece had so many friends that when I finally managed to get to her to take the picture, this is what came out:

In the excitement, we didn't check it on our cell phones at the time, and days later, when we looked through the entire gallery in detail, we realized that the moment had been blurred. This is an inside joke we use when we want to say, “Take the photo properly, not like the one from that day.” 😆.

The highest peak in Venezuela

It's a trip that everyone should take at least once in their lifetime. It's the longest cable car in Latin America, and we had to check it out. We took three cameras with us to capture every moment because we didn't know if we'd ever be able to return. Everything loaded and ready to go. At that time, GoPro were just coming out, and we had one. But it took up more space in our hands than it served its purpose. It had no color, no shape, no sharpness—NOTHING! And our photos and videos looked as if we were in a desert, even though the mountain was flooded with green:

Luckily, we had backup and managed to capture better moments. Why don't I delete them? Because one has a photo of the highest Virgin of Peace and the other has mules that you don't see everywhere.

I am not a photographer, but I like to capture moments that have stories behind them.

The photographs are my property.
I created the cover, banner, and divider in Canvas.
I used DeepL as my translator.

Until next time.

We always keep photos that hold a memorable meaning for us, whether it's blurry or not😁🥰.
