Prejudices - Have you ever realized that you unconsciously hold a prejudice? Have you ever tried to change your prejudices? How have you done so?

Yes, I have realized that I unconsciously held some prejudices in the past without even knowing it. Sometimes, it happens so quietly that you donβt notice it until a certain situation makes you reflect. I remember once thinking in a particular way about a group of people simply because of what others said or what I heard from people. It wasnβt something I planned or intended, but it was there deep inside me. One day, I met someone from that same group, and we became friends. That experience opened my eyes and made me see how wrong my thoughts had been.
I started to understand that prejudice doesnβt always come from hate, sometimes, it grows from ignorance or lack of experience. I decided to change the way I saw people by getting to know them better. I made it a point to listen to their stories, spend time with them, and ask questions instead of assuming. Slowly, my heart began to change, and I realized that everyone is unique in their own way, no matter where they come from.
Getting closer to people helped me replace those wrong ideas with real understanding. It taught me that when you look beyond what others say or what you think you know, you find that most people just want to be respected and understood. Now, I try to meet people with an open mind and focus more on who they are rather than where they are from or what they look like.
