| Арсений Морозов построил его в 1895-1899 годах. Автор проекта архитектор Виктор Мазырин, друг хозяина. Особняк выполнен в стиле модерн в необычном неомавританском духе. Морозов и Мазырин в начале 90-х годов путешествовали по Испании и Португалии. На них произвёл неизгладимое впечатление дворец Пена в Синтре. Вдохновлённые увиденным, они задумали построить в Москве дом-замок в подобном стиле. | Arseny Morozov built it in 1895-1899. The author of the project is the architect Viktor Mazyrin, a friend of the owner. The mansion is made in the Art Nouveau style in an unusual neo-Moorish spirit. Morozov and Mazyrin traveled to Spain and Portugal in the early 90s. They were deeply impressed by the Pena Palace in Sintra. Inspired by what they saw, they decided to build a castle-house in Moscow in a similar style. |

| В детстве мы с братом занимались рисованием в одной из Изостудий нашего города. Наш руководитель периодически отправлял рисунки учеников на выставки и конкурсы, в том числе международные. Тогда в Индии под патронажем журнала «Шанкар уикли» ежегодно проводился очень большой конкурс детских рисунков. Выпускались каталоги, вручались награды. Детям из Москвы и Подмосковья несколько раз награды вручали вот в этом самом Доме дружбы народов. | As children, my brother and I used to draw in one of the Art Studios in our city. Our director periodically sent students' drawings to exhibitions and competitions, including international ones. At that time, a very large children's drawing competition was held annually in India under the patronage of the Shankar Weekly magazine. Catalogues were published, awards were presented. Children from Moscow and the Moscow region were awarded several times in this very House of Friendship of Peoples. |
| В том числе, несколько раз отмечали призами и медалями рисунки мои и брата. Нас приглашали на вручение в Дом дружбы народов. Тогда этот особняк нам казался совершенно сказочным дворцом. Такой необычный снаружи, внутри он был просто роскошным. Было много позолоты и шикарной мебели. Детей угощали лимонадом и вкуснейшими пирожными и конфетами. Представители Индии во главе с послом поражали необычными национальными нарядами. Присутствовала и любимая детская поэтесса Агния Барто. В общем, впечатления были сказочными, необыкновенными, очень яркими. Позже я с большим интересом рассматривала каталоги конкурса. Это была потрясающая картина разнообразия мира. Очень интересно было рассматривать не только рисунки, но и лица моих ровесников из разных уголков планеты. | In particular, my brother's and my drawings were awarded prizes and medals several times. We were invited to the presentation at the House of Friendship of Peoples. At that time, this mansion seemed to us a completely fairy-tale palace. So unusual on the outside, inside it was simply luxurious. There was a lot of gilding and chic furniture. The children were treated to lemonade and delicious cakes and sweets. The representatives of India, headed by the ambassador, amazed with unusual national costumes. The beloved children's poetess Agniya Barto was also present. In general, the impressions were fabulous, extraordinary, very vivid. Later, I looked at the competition catalogues with great interest. It was an amazing picture of the diversity of the world. It was very interesting to look at not only the drawings, but also the faces of my peers from different parts of the world. |
