Hello to all the women entrepreneurs in our community and to everyone who lives and works here.

I find this week's two topics essential, and from my perspective as a teacher for 27 years, I'm going to share my thoughts on learning methods and the essence of knowledge in this digital age.

In a world where the only constant is change, our ability to learn and adapt becomes the fundamental skill. The advice I would share is based on a profound transformation of our relationship with knowledge.

The essential advice: Cultivate a lifelong learning mindset.

Instead of accumulating static knowledge, we must develop the ability to learn continuously. This implies:

Learning to unlearn: Often, our greatest obstacles are certainties acquired in the past that no longer serve us in the present. Intellectual humility allows us to question what we thought we knew.

Prioritizing skills over information: In the digital age, information is abundant; what is valuable is knowing what to do with it. Focus on developing skills such as critical thinking, complex problem-solving, and adaptability.

Building a learning network: Nobody can know everything. Create connections with diverse people who complement our knowledge and challenge us intellectually.

Practical strategies for implementing this advice:

Dedicate intentional time to learning: Don't wait for needs to arise, but regularly dedicate time to exploring new areas, even those not directly related to your field.

Apply knowledge immediately: Learning is consolidated when put into practice. Look for projects or situations where you can apply new skills.

Develop tolerance for ambiguity: Accept that in a complex world we rarely have all the information before acting, and learn to make decisions with incomplete data.

Regularly ask yourself: How am I learning? What strategies work for me? What should I change in my learning process?

The human dimension in a technological world

Paradoxically, in an increasingly automated world, human skills such as empathy, creativity, and collaboration become more valuable. Learning should not focus solely on the technical aspects, but also on the human and ethical dimensions.

Among these people is my husband, and together we apply these continuous learning strategies because of what they represent for both of us.

There are also my adopted granddaughters, whom I try to teach and equip with the necessary tools to live in this increasingly digital world.

Los dos temas de esta semana me pareen esenciales y, desde mi posición de profesora durante 27 años voy a dar mi parecer en torno a las maneras de aprender y lo esencial del conocimiento en este mundo de la era digital.

En un mundo donde la única constante es el cambio, nuestra capacidad para aprender y adaptarnos se convierte en la habilidad fundamental. El consejo que compartiría se fundamenta en una transformación profunda de nuestra relación con el conocimiento.
El consejo esencial: Cultivar la mentalidad de aprendiz permanente

En lugar de acumular conocimientos estáticos, debemos desarrollar la capacidad de aprender continuamente. Esto implica:

Aprender a desaprender: A menudo, nuestros mayores obstáculos son las certezas adquiridas en el pasado que ya no sirven para el presente. La humildad intelectual nos permite cuestionar lo que creíamos saber.

Priorizar habilidades sobre información: En la era digital, la información es abundante; lo valioso es saber qué hacer con ella. Concentrarse en desarrollar competencias como el pensamiento crítico, la resolución de problemas complejos y la adaptabilidad.

Construir una red de aprendizaje: Nadie puede saberlo todo. Crear conexiones con personas diversas que complementen nuestro conocimiento y nos desafíen intelectualmente.

Estrategias prácticas para implementar este consejo:

Dedicar tiempo intencional al aprendizaje: No esperar a que las necesidades lleguen, sino dedicar regularmente tiempo a explorar nuevas áreas, incluso aquellas no directamente relacionadas con nuestro campo.

Aplicar el conocimiento inmediatamente: El aprendizaje se consolida cuando se pone en práctica. Buscar proyectos o situaciones donde aplicar nuevas habilidades.

Desarrollar la tolerancia a la ambigüedad: Aceptar que en un mundo complejo rara vez tenemos toda la información antes de actuar, y aprender a tomar decisiones con datos incompletos.

Preguntarnos regularmente: ¿Cómo estoy aprendiendo? ¿Qué estrategias me funcionan? ¿Qué debo cambiar en mi proceso de aprendizaje?

La dimensión humana en un mundo tecnológico

Paradójicamente, en un mundo cada vez más automatizado, las habilidades humanas como la empatía, la creatividad y la colaboración se vuelven más valiosas. El aprendizaje no debe centrarse solo en lo técnico, sino también en lo humano y lo ético.

Personas que comparten este viaje del conocimiento.

Dentro de estas personas está mi esposo y, juntos aplicamos estas estrategias de aprendizaje constante por lo que representan para ambos.

Están mis nietas adoptivas, a las que trato de enseñar y dotar de las herramientas necesarias para vivir en este mundo cada vez más digitalizado.
