That connection with the public, providing people with clothing, shoes, and other necessary items, was what I longed for to fulfill myself as an entrepreneur. But it wasn't to be.

On the one hand, the financial resources needed for the investment were very high, and I had no way of obtaining them. Furthermore, to start the business, I would have had to hire people and rent or build a space to store and sell the products. After doing the calculations and seeing the required budget, I gave up on that business, which, had I had the resources, I surely would have pursued.

However, life gave me the opportunity to start a garage sale business, where I sell clothes, shoes, and other items. Although it doesn't have the impact or commercial reach I dreamed of, it has helped me fulfill part of my dream and contributes to the family income, since this opportunity came about during my retirement.

Today, at 63, I run this garage sale business, which, more than providing me with financial security, has allowed me to achieve my dream of being a business manager. It has also helped me have a more active retirement and discover a whole new world.

Aunque no me arrepiento de haber sido profesora de Español y Literatura, siempre quise tener un negocio de venta de ropa, calzado y otros enseres. Esa relación con el público, proveer a las personas de ropa para vestir, calzado para caminar y otros útiles necesarios, era lo que anhelaba para realizarme como empresaria. Pero no pudo ser.
