(ENG-ESP) Birdwatching at the Manzanillo Refuge - Avistamiento de aves en el Refugio el Manzanillo

Hello, dear bird-loving friends, first of all, I'd like to briefly introduce my photography and biodiversity conservation project in the Colombian Pacific. Together with my friend @torrecoin90, we've formed the Manzanillo Biodiversity Refuge, a place that, without even knowing it, was already part of our dreams and life project. Now we're here to share a bit of the beauty and biodiversity our planet has to offer.

Hola queridos amigos amantes de las aves, primero que todo me gustaría hacer una pequeña introducción de mi proyecto de fotografía y conservación de la biodiversidad en el pacifico Colombiano. Junto a mi amigo @torrecoin90 hemos formado El Refugio de Biodiversidad el Manzanillo, un lugar que sin saberlo ya hacia parte de nuestros sueños y proyecto de vida. Ahora estamos acá para compartir un poco de la belleza y biodiversidad que tiene nuestro planeta para ofrecernos.

Through ecological trails, we can admire the beauty of hundreds of birds, from common birds of the Colombian Pacific to little-explored species with few recorded sightings. That's why we want to briefly summarize what we've recorded so far in this beautiful place in the Pacific jungle. With the help of a monocular and my cell phone, I've captured some photos of some beautiful birds that I'd like to share with you.

A través de senderos ecológicos podremos admirar la belleza de cientos de aves, desde aves comunes del pacifico Colombiano, hasta especies poco exploradas y con pocos avistamientos registrados. Es por esto que queremos hacer un pequeño resumen de lo que hasta el momento hemos registrado en este hermoso lugar de las selvas del pacifico. Con ayuda de un monocular y mi celular he registrado unas fotos de unas aves hermosas que me gustaría compartir con ustedes.

Ruiseñor o Torito Cabecirrojo Macho

Eubucco bourcierii: This is a sexually dimorphic bird species, meaning its specimens display different physical characteristics depending on their gender. In this case, the male is the most striking; many bird photographers and biologists admire and study this beautiful bird.

Eubucco bourcierii: Es una especie de ave que presenta dimorfismo sexual, es decir sus especímenes presentas características físicas diferentes según su genero. Siendo en este caso el macho mas llamativo, muchos fotógrafos de aves y biólogos admiran y estudian esta hermosa ave.

Ruiseñor o Torito Hembra

The female is similar in size to the male, approximately 15 centimeters long and 15 grams in weight. Unlike the male, she has yellow feathers on her head and blue feathers on part of her face.

La hembra es de un tamaño similar al macho aproximadamente de 15 centímetros de longitud 15 gramos de peso. A diferencia del macho esta tiene en su cabeza plumas amarillas y en parte de su rostro azules.

Gorrión Copetón?

We're not entirely sure of the species of this small bird. We believe it's a juvenile Tufted Sparrow, which is why it hasn't yet developed its characteristic crested plumage. However, we're unsure of this information. If anyone in the community is familiar with this bird, please leave its scientific name and characteristics in the comments section.

La verdad no estamos muy seguros de la especie de esta pequeña ave, creemos que es un Gorrión Copetón joven, y por eso aun no ha desarrollado su plumaje característico en forma de copete. Sin embargo no estamos seguros de esta información, si alguien de la comunidad conoce esta ave, lo invito a dejar el nombre científico y sus características en la caja de comentarios.

Tangara Terciopelo o Rabirroja

Ramphocelus passerinii: This is a common bird in the Colombian Pacific, also known as the Toche in some regions of eastern Colombia. A small bird with quick, playful movements that fill the mornings of our beautiful Pacific rainforest with joy.

Ramphocelus Passerinii: Es un ave común en el pacifico Colombiano, se conoce también como Toche en algunas regiones del oriente de Colombia. Ave pequeña y con movimientos rápidos y divertidos que llenan las mañanas de nuestro hermosa selva del pacifico de alegría.

Tucán Esmeralda: Especie poco comun en avistamientos de aves. Una historia especial que viene proximamente
