LOH263: Respect For Other People.
Good day everyone, welcome to my blog

Being a mother has been nothing but a rollercoaster full of different emotions for me. I have had my share of different experiences and I have had to switch professions and vocations to suit the needs of my children.
As a mother, I have had to work as a laundry lady, the nanny, the caregiver, the counselor and, the teacher, the cook, the investigating officer, the lawyer, the judge and many more things for my children.
In all honesty, if there is an important lesson I would teach my children that would be having respect for others. I would teach my children to respect people no matter their background, reputation or vocations.

I have seen and spoken to a lot of children due to my profession and I found out that seventy percent of our children lack respect for others. Just last week, I was talking to some children about the disabled in our community then this little girl of about seven said something I would share with you below.
She said I saw this lame man when I was at the market with my mother a few days ago. He was hawking shoe polish despite his condition so I begged my mother to give me some money so I could give it to the lame man. My mum gave me the go ahead so I took two thousand naira from her bag and threw it to the lame man.
Then I asked her when you threw the money at him, what did your mum say or do? In response she said mum was just laughing as the lame man struggled to get the money. Too bad. I had to make the little girl see the bad thing that surrounded her good intentions.

I explained to her that the man may be Lame and in need of help but he still took his time to hawk that is one reason to respect him. That man is somebody's father and that is another reason you should respect him. Lastly, I asked if she had seen a beggar with an able body before and she said yes then I told her that is another tangible reason to respect the lame man.
A child who has respect for others would not do things to intentionally hurt a fellow human or make them feel less human, would always consider the feelings of others and would have a proper thinking before doing things ir making decisions.

Disrespect strive when parents refuse to see problem with their children attitude.
Correcting them when they made mistakes, because that kid will someday become a parent and the circle goes on and on.
Respect is definitely one of the most important lessons we can teach our children, respect for others, for themselves, for all beings really and of course the earth.
