Many hands can make light the work! It's good that everyone contributes. As for cooking, when I lived at home with my parents as a young woman, I did cook, but it was different dishes than my mom did. I don't know if she was afraid to try something different or not. I would just create a dish by adding the ingredients I wanted to and it always seemed to turn out good. Nobody complained anyway.
