Splinterlands Art Contest - Week 344 - Sacrosanct Shanker fanart

Last week I entered my first Splinterland art contest and had a lot of fun, so I thought I would attempt another 😀

Here is my drawing for the Splinterlands week 344 art contest, today I present to you my drawing of 1 of the new cards coming in conclave arcana Sacrosanct Shanker.

She is a rare earth character from Splinterlands, and I drew this as part of my ongoing attempts to use art as a creative outlet to handle stress. While I continue learning and practicing at drawing, I have found the process to be quiet enjoyable.

Without further ado here is my attempt.

First I sketched the concept in procreate, it ended up not being the exact final image, as parts of it I didnt like (the eyes and hair) which I changed as I continued the process.

Next I had to 'ink' the outline so that it stood out a bit, at this stage I also realized I could copy the image and paste it into procreate and have it as a quick reference which helped a lot.

After I was 'happy' with the image we were slowly making I used color picker/matcher tool to get the colors and added to the drawing.

The image felt very flat without any shading, which I attempted to add here. This is something that I think I need to do a lot of work on, and I need to get better at making use of highlights to add more depth to the drawing.

This is the final drawing, pretty much the same as the image above, I still had a lot of fun learning and trying new things.

Improvements from last week: I am using layers 🤣 last week it was 3, this week over 20, were they all good, no as I forgot to change between them all the time 😅 but practice makes perfect.

Also if any ideas on how to improve, I will gladly take them.
