Valentine's Day

It was February 14th, a day popularly celebrated as Valentine's Day. The air smelled of roses and pines, the atmosphere smeared with a touch of red, usually visible for lovers who had anxiously anticipated the arrival of this day.

Kule, a young man aged 30 saw the day fit to propose to his colleague Bimbo whom he has admired for a long time. Not knowing what to do he approached Ade, his friend, for suggestions.
"Get her a red rose and while you hand it over to her, ask her out for a date" Ade told him.

After a few suggestions, Kule decided to go with the first. He wasn't the romantic kind but handing out a flower seemed easy for him. He drove to a boutique which was a few drives away and bought a flower and a bottle of perfume. He wanted the day to be special, not just for him but for her also.

While eagerly waiting for the perfect moment, he dressed up and rehearsed a few lines while practicing ways to hand the flower to her. At first it was awkward until he tried it a few times more and realized it can be easy, all he needed was confidence. He stood patiently in the dark watching the clock tick while holding the flower and waiting for the set time.
