Nos fuimos a un concurso con mi prima. [ESP-ENG]

La razón de que viajamos el viernes en la noche desde la isla de margarita hasta puerto la cruz es que una de mis primas tenía un concurso en conjunto con una fundación que ayuda a los niños con cáncer y desde ya debo decir que este es un tema que hoy más que nunca entiendo y claro que cuando pueda ayudaré ya que el cáncer se llevó a mi mamá. Estar en proceso de duelo no es fácil para mí y en una parte del concurso cuando hablaron de los niños que perdieron la vida a causa del cáncer no pude contener las lágrimas.

The reason we traveled Friday night from Margarita Island to Puerto La Cruz is that one of my cousins was participating in a contest with a foundation that helps children with cancer. I must say that this is an issue I understand now more than ever, and of course, I will help when I can, since cancer took my mother. Being in the grieving process isn't easy for me, and during the contest, when they spoke about the children who lost their lives to cancer, I couldn't hold back my tears.

Me arregle temprano y mi tía y yo estábamos esperando nos buscarán para ir hasta el hotel donde sería el concurso, yo tenía muchos años sin venir hasta puerto la cruz así que siento que todo es nuevo para mí. Últimamente no tengo ni ánimos de arreglarme así que salir de la cama es un gran logro para mí.

I got ready early, and my aunt and I were waiting to be picked up to go to the hotel where the competition was being held. I hadn't been to Puerto La Cruz in many years, so everything feels new to me. Lately, I haven't even felt like getting ready, so just getting out of bed is a huge accomplishment.

El hotel al que fuimos está en Lecherías, realmente no conocimos mucho en esta oportunidad ya que era de noche. Espero que mi familia me lleve de día y poder conocer mejor este lugar, ya que en los años que venía de viaje al estado Anzoátegui íbamos más que todo a los ríos. Debo decir que estoy agradecida con mi tía por apoyarme tanto, brindarme su casa y su cariño para tratar de apasiguar un poco mi dolor.

The hotel we stayed at is in Lecherías. We didn't really get to see much of it this time since it was nighttime. I hope my family will take me during the day so I can explore this place better, since in the years I've visited Anzoátegui state, we've mostly gone to the rivers. I must say I'm grateful to my aunt for supporting me so much, offering me her home and her love to try and ease my pain a little.

El concurso comenzó a eso de las 8 pm y estaba una miss que concurso en el miss Venezuela y participo en unos concursos internacionales, dió un discurso muy lindo.

The contest started around 8 pm and there was a Miss who competed in Miss Venezuela and participated in some international contests, she gave a very nice speech.

Estábamos de últimos así que tomarle fotos a mi prima fue un poco complicado pero pude tomar algunas fotos a lo largo del concurso.

We were last so taking pictures of my cousin was a bit complicated but I was able to take some pictures throughout the contest.

Y finalmente el concurso terminó y mi prima ganó una corona, ella ayudará con programas beneficicos para los niños con cáncer.

And finally the contest ended and my cousin won a crown; she will help with charity programs for children with cancer.
