Vaccines; The Silent Heroes Of Public Health

From when a child is born the first vaccine that is been administered to the baby is known as BCG, which means (Bacillus Calmette-Guérin) this vaccine protects new born infants from Tuberculosis meningitis, in my country I think the tuberculosis disease is quite common because I have never heard that a child is born here and that vaccine is not been administered to that child, infact they administer the vaccine to the new born after few days of when the child is born.

Vaccines are very important because they help to protect humans from infections and diseases, although one disease that is quite common too even after the vaccine has been administered to children is measles, I still see children catch that disease mostly in school premises from other infected children, this doesn’t apply to all though, I never heard mother say that I caught such of disease while I was younger, if I did she would have told me anything she told me stories of how I was birthed.

Some years back about five years ago, while I was in my final in the university before going back to school that semester, we heard about the polio vaccines and the health care workers were begging people to come for it, I refused to go for it and I even remember them standing at our street junction and giving to people who wanted to take it but I still never went, Unfortunately when I got back to school the community health care workers informed the school Vice Chancellor about it and it was made mandatory for every student to take, whose-ever that didn’t take it wouldn’t be allowed to write exams and I was in my final year.

I had no choice than go for it, I had the belief that the government was trying to pull a staunt on the masses, just like we heard about the covid 19 vaccine, even some nurses adviced people not to take it, A friend of mine that took it undergoed serious pains and when she told me about it I decided not to go for it, and till date I never went for it.

Thanks for stopping by💫

Vaccines are good and help to prevent us from contracting certain diseases, but some of this vaccines can be taken and it results into something else or some complications.

Yes that’s true, I heard so many negative feedbacks about the Covid 19 vaccine, and a even a friend of mine then complained bitterly about pains days after she took it

Vaccines are important, I know we have fears, the best way to overcome the fear is going to the health center/hospital yourself.

People react to vaccines differently, that your friend fell ill, that doesn't mean you will too

I get your point but if a survey was to be taken on the Covid 19 vaccine, then I trust that the vaccine would have gone out of existence
