We always have something that we hold so dear to us. Something that reminds us of the past and gives us hope in the future. Something we treasure so much. It could be anything for you. It could be very small, it could be very big.

But whenever you remember such thing or you see such thing, you think of, it makes you happy, you become so hopeful.

What was so special to me is just a cheap mug. I know the mug might be worth just a couple of bucks at most. But for me, it's one of the precious gifts ever.

The gift that has made me laugh. And I've viewed my friendship that has carried me through my toughest days. I got this mug years ago from one of my best friends. Just during a random time when we went for dinner.

I remember those days we were just a broke college student. Trying to find our way through struggling. And all of a sudden, out of her love, she handed me this mug.
As a gift, jokingly, for my birthday. Although we laughed, we laughed through the day, took out the day.

We were teasing each other. While knowing that we always had each other's back. But do you know what?
That mug became our main thing, our bond in our relationship. We shared it during late night sessions when we were studying for the exam.

Sometimes we passed it back and forth while drinking the same coffee in the same mug.
As we talked about life, love, and everything that has happened between us and our life while we were together. It was also there when I cried the first time I had my first breakup.

Even when I celebrated my first time. First job of her after leaving the college and when we just sat in silence, we start saying a word. What makes this mug so special is the faded paints that the memory still holds.

So anytime I just pick this mug it's like my soul is being transported back to those moments I had with my best friend, that friendship I cannot let go or think of easily. This is just a reminder of how simple life can be. That simple thing can just carry the weight of love and connection.

Even now I know my friend is still living across the country. But when I see that mug it feel like I'm still there with her laughing and gisting together. This mug teaches me one most important lesson that value isn't placed on price tags alone or what others really think about you, it's about the meaning we give to things that anchor us to the moment we share with others.

You have your own version of a mug, it can just be anything or any small gift but hold on to it. Celebrate this morning, those little things remind us of the greatest treasure of life. It might not be shiny or expensive but sometimes they are just ordinary, but they are made priceless. The love they represent.

The cheap mug is the most important thing for me. It's what connects me and it is what holds a place in my heart.
