Rediscovering Peace In Gardening and Community: LOH #247

If someone would tell me years back that I would enjoy digging the earth,nI would have laughed off. I never imagined that would be my favorite thing to do.

Here am I. Now I'm finding my pure joy in gardening. This is my new favorite thing to do, which is to cultivate a small garden in my backyard and also sharing the harvest afternsharing the harvest with my neighbors. This has been a great change for me. I'm very, very excited to do this.

This all started when my auntie gave me some tomatoes when I went to visit her in my hometown. And I thought as much because in my city I live in a flat with a tiny backyard that can have enough space for a small garden. So I thought to myself, why not give it a try and bring out the farmer in me. The farmer in me. So I started with just some small pots, gardening a bit of soil, and being hopeful that it might go away.

At first, watching those first green sprouts push to felt like a miracle for me. Like I had this such a good feeling in me that since I'm doing the right thing and I'm enjoying it.. So every morning I would go out to water my plants, taking off the weeds, the same way my grandmother taught me when I was in the village helping her in the farm.

So there's something so calming about this whole process, especially when you do start a chain in the city and not in the village, where lives move fast and people are into professional dealings. Doing these things, it seems as if it's local.

You enjoy it when you do it in such an area.
What made this most special, even though, is it brought me and my neighbors together. I started sharing how my crops are doing with my neighbor, my tomatoes, my vegetables, my cucumber, and everything. We also formed a garden club, So we gave each other tips, share seedlings, and even cook our harvest together as if it was a festival.

Last weekend we made a big pot of soup from our plants, melon soup from our melon plants. And it was interesting things to do. I saw everyone laughing. So in my area, community is everything. And this hasbreminded me how powerful it is to connect with nature and with people.

Gardening has taught me a lot of patience and hope. You're planting a seed today and tomorrow you see how it's been germinating. It's a lot of life and lesson to learn. It inspired me a lot. I enjoyed everything.

I'm dreaming of expanding my garden and maybe one day I'll start a small market where I sell my products with more people around me. So if you're looking for that new spark, why don't you try planting something like me?

Maybe you'll enjoy it also like me, the way I enjoy my own.

Thank you.

I grow a few Tomatoes too.
Even with the short growing season gardening satisfies my nurturing nature, taking pride of the home I spent many years to pay off and provides me a sense of accomplishment other than providing fresh flowers and vegetables for our kitchen.
Thanks for sharing.
