At first glance, the yellow toy seems simple: small, rigid, motionless, and, above all, almost stationary on the floor. However, once you start playing with it, you’ll discover the many movements it can make; moreover, its geometric shapes, color, and mechanical design make it something far more incredible and unique. But it isn’t the toy itself that really catches your attention—it’s the small shadow surrounding it.

Behind the toy, projected onto the floor, appears a larger, deeper, more realistic silhouette of the toy itself—and it is not a simple dark shadow; it is another version of the same object. One that has no color, no details, and only appears when there is light.

While the toy remains still, the shadow seems to spread out, as if it wanted to escape beyond the limits and at the same time convey something it cannot. Furthermore, at that moment the light defines the object, but it is the shadow that interprets it, and what we see is not always what matters most.

El juguete amarillo parece simple a primera vista, pequeño, rígido, sin movimientos y sobre todo casi inmóvil sobre el suelo. Sin embargo, una vez que comienzas a jugar con él tendrás cuentas de muchos movimientos que puede hacer, además sus formas geométricas, su color, su diseño mecánico, permite que sea algo mucho más increíble y único. Pero no es él juegue lo que realmente llama la atención, sino la pequeña sombra que lo rodea.

Detrás de del juguete, proyectada sobre el suelo aparece una silueta más grande, más profunda, más real de dicho juguete y no es una simple sombra oscura, es otra versión del mismo objeto. Una que no tiene color, no tiene detalles y solo aparece cuando hay luz.

It lengthens, shortens, and distorts—all depending on the light—and at times it seems larger than the object itself, while at other times it almost disappears. But it is always there, accompanying us, reminding us that everything that exists also has a version that cannot be touched.

The shadow remains intact, and in that silent relationship—almost invisible unless observed closely—there is a simple yet powerful idea: not everything that defines something lies in what is directly visible; your eyes can see beyond. Sometimes, the most interesting thing is right next to it, in that dark space that few pause to look at.
