Animal collection - Entry contest #405 [ENG-ESP]

Looking through some photos, I found this small collection of stuffed animals that were a part of my childhood for many years. Upon closer inspection, I noticed some shadows. In this case, the shadows are projected behind each animal like a second stage, a quieter and perhaps more honest one, as they see themselves reflected there, creating this effect. The giraffe is the tallest, and so it seems as if its neck will reach the wall, as if it wants to escape the edge of the light. The hippopotamus, being the fattest, is in the center and appears stronger, almost protective, which is why its shadow is much more noticeable. Meanwhile, the restless monkey leaves a silhouette that suggests movement, as if it were about to jump when no one is looking, and its shadow is smaller but still visible.

Revisando algunas fotos encontré esta pequeña colección de animales, animales que son de peluches y han formado parte de mi infancia durante muchos años y detallando la foto se observan algunas sombras. En este caso las sombras se proyectan detrás de cada animal como un segundo escenario, uno más silencioso y quizás más honesto, al verse allí reflejado y por eso crea dicho efecto. La jirafa es la más alta y por eso parece que su cuello va a llegar hasta tocar la pared, como si quisiera escapar del borde de la luz. El hipopótamo, es el más gordo, está en el centro y parece más fuerte, casi protector, por eso la sombra que este crea es mucho más notable. Mientras que el mono, inquieto, deja una silueta que insinúa movimiento, como si estuviera a punto de saltar cuando nadie mire y su sombra es más pequeña pero aún así se puede notar.

The light falls on them intensely and seems to keep them motionless for a long time, but the shadows transform them, making them appear alive and reflecting themselves on the floor. These are simple toys from my childhood, yet they are very important characters in an animated film saga, and each one represents something and has a story to tell. In that contrast between light and darkness, magic appears: the everyday becomes imaginary, and the small acquires depth, reminding us that sometimes shadows speak louder than reality.

La luz cae sobre ellos de una gran manera y pareciera que los mantiene inmóviles durante mucho tiempo, pero las sombras los transforman y permite como si estuvieran vivos y se reflejan ellos mismos sobre el piso. Estos son una simple juguetes de mi infancia, sin embargo son personajes muy importantes de una saga de películas animadas y cada uno de ellos representa algo y tiene una historia por contar. En ese contraste entre luz y oscuridad, aparece la magia: lo cotidiano se vuelve imaginario, y lo pequeño adquiere profundidad, recordándonos que a veces las sombras dicen más que la forma real.
