Weekend-Engagement #283: What are you an expert in?

First of all, let's start with the concept that being an expert doesn't mean being the best. No matter how good or experienced you are, the rule is that there is always someone better than you.

That said, I consider myself an expert in a few fields, none of which are practical, all are mental. I’m more of a mind person than a hands-on person. Let’s begin:

  • Sports trading: Several years ago, I was intrigued by someone who had started sharing how, by trading on odds for football events, they were able to generate profits before the match started, never placing real bets but cashing out in the green before the game began. Of course, when it comes to money and earnings, no one is going to give you the recipe for success; they only provided a general idea and shared screenshots of their winnings. So, I started studying and working on it by myself, specializing in trading on the ‘draw’ result, doing the classic buy-and-sell strategy common in any trading market, and I always achieved good results. I remember during World Cup matches, I would move liquidity constantly, sometimes up to 20k € per game, and when a few years ago accounts that moved too much money were blocked, I used my sister-in-law’s account, and I doubled the balance in a year, so a 100% ROI.

  • Strategy games: Not all of them, but those in the Command & Conquer series, I’ve loved them since I was a kid, and the older I got, the more I loved them. The challenge of logic and intellect they gave me was just too intriguing, and then when I discovered online play and the world rankings of the best players, that’s what gave me even more drive, because when I commit to something, I either do it well or I don’t do it at all—I always want to reach the top. So, through constant practice, I eventually reached number 1 in the rankings, and since the topic is about experts, I was recognized as one, I didn’t declare myself as such. I even received a badge on the main site that hosted tournaments, etc. Here's the screenshot with the badge:

  • Geopolitics: Another field where I consider myself quite an expert is geopolitics. The people I know barely even know where Syria is, who the Houthis are, etc. I think it's essential to be aware of what’s happening in the world and its dynamics. We can’t just be puppets manipulated by the powerful. If everyone were fully aware of all the corruption around it, the conspiracies, etc., maybe we could all say ‘No, enough now,’ instead of being brainwashed and accepting everything.

These are the fields where I consider myself an expert. Some might consider them useless, but that's fine too.

You’re right, being an expert doesn’t mean being the best. Well done with the results. :)

Mmm interesting and varied fields of expertise! About geopolitcs it's true people don't know anything about who their lives are manipulated by the information provided with interests... but reading history and observing facts we know that power finances both sides and never lose.
