Weekend-Engagement #277: What are you doing, or have you done, this weekend. Explain.

For this weekend, I had everything perfectly planned for a couple of weeks. Saturday morning was dedicated to chores like grocery shopping. I don’t like shopping on weekends because it encourages supermarkets to stay open when even those poor unlucky people working there deserve a break, but oh well, during the week I just can’t manage it… so chores and shopping done without much to talk about.
After lunch, about an hour’s drive away, I headed to the Montagnana Trade Fair, a fair I had read good things about but had never been to before. I enjoy going to these events; they’re nice to spend time with family, see new things together, and have a pleasant time.

Among the stands, coming from all over Italy, I discovered authentic flavors, unique handcrafted creations, and many interesting novelties. But the most exciting part, especially for the little ones, was the large animal exhibition: cows, horses, sheep, chickens… it felt like being on a real farm; there were even equestrian shows. Below is a nice collection of photos from the event and the animals present.

Some artist with his paintings.

Then, wandering around the various stands, there was a fairly large one full of succulent plants, even cheap ones, many at €1 each. I bought 4 for myself and 1 for my son (the one called the “stone succulent,” the only one with a flower); he really liked it, so I got it for him (@erikah let me know if you like them).

We then went back home at the end of the day.
For Sunday, I had already found another beautiful event with old-fashioned games, puppet shows, artisanal ice creams, and much more, set inside the historic center of a nearby town. But Mr. Weather wasn’t very cooperative, on Sunday morning it rained heavily, with strong winds and a cold that felt like winter, so the event was canceled.

We stayed home since there wasn’t much else to do. After lunch, with the weather improving (although still very cold), we went for a walk in a nearby town, in a new, large shopping mall where they were doing sticker swaps for the “India” themed collection. We managed to complete the album, took a nice stroll, and in the meantime, I bought my son a "Lego-not-Lego" tank, a Cubix brand, which I’m sure @galenkp will appreciate!

That fair was calling my name. I loved everything except the paintings (those were kitschy). The color of the parrots was amazing and wanted to say I love the birds the most, then I saw the horse! Such beauty 😍😍😍
Those succulents are lovely and durt cheap. I envy you for them as here you pay 2€ for one piece.
Oh the horse was stunning! It was taller than usual ones and sooo muscular, all black and well-groomed... Bonus Pic above!
2€ sounds a bit expensive for the little ones indeed
What an absolute beauty!😍 Thanks for the photo!
