SKOVLYST, Danish non-alcoholic IPA - surprisingly good!

I am still working myself through the different danish IPAs my friend brought for my birthday this summer. So one of these is a non-alcoholic version and I hasitated to open that one. But obviously I saved the best for last! After a good but exercise-like dog walk I thought it was the right time, since a non-alcoholic beer after sports is a good recommendation anyways.
So hoping for the best I prepared a glass with some ice (you know - thats a must for me to really enjoy beer) and opened that bottle.

Fair amount of ice 😉

Look and feel

The liquid poured in a cloudy and orange appearance with a very soft, beautiful foam hat, that disappeared quickly. I have to extra mention the foam since this usually is more an annying thing to me while having a beer. But not in this case. With a very soft sensation on lips and tongue and a sweet taste it really pleased me!

The taste

Although I didn't expect the best experience I was totally surprised. Okay - the typical tangy beer-taste only was an idea. But. Damn - what a nice, fresh yet fruity (banana-like) aroma! My thirsty mouth really enjoyed that one! Very mild, obviously without alcohol but still a beer that deserved the name!
Fun fact: The brewery describes its own beer as "A robust, non-alcoholic IPA with a richness of sweet malt, balanced with a bitter citrus note." But I rather felt it like a banana-like sweet verion.

I wish I had a glass like that. It's more comfortable to drink with that beer glass

Adding an ice to a beer is it also necessary when the beer is already chilled? Tell me so I can give it a try.

Well, I don't think it's necessary then, but I really do like ice in my drinks. So maybe I am a bit extreme but thats my thing. By the way - I usually can't make it to empty a beer in just a few minutes, so even chilled beer becomes warmer somehow. Not so with ice 😉

This is more some kind of a "beer religious" question.

Many people would never ever mix anything into a beer but other people love the cool taste.

I prefer to put the beer even into the freezer and not ice = water into a beer.

With my beloved @dandegrischdine we discussed this a few time to agree we not agree.

But a mixed beer = refreshing drink could
Easily get some more water.

So everyone has his own rules

Wow, thanks for your clear explanation to my question. I now understand that everything is based on the individual preference. I appreciate

Non-alcoholic IPA! I haven't found one yet, what a funny story. 🤔

OMG, the ice x'D, you crack me up! 😵🤣

Hey, lately I've been seeing non-alcoholic beers as a more interesting alternative to typical soft drinks, although you can always have an interesting experience with non-alcoholic drinks if you choose well.

Cheers!🍻
