Einbecker Ur-Bock Dunkel
Man, I have started a thing. Once I stumbled over a bottle of bockbier, I had to write a review about it. What followed was: "Where is the next bockbier to check out??" I mean, I really liked the last one, so I had to find another one for this week and I did: Einbecker Ur-Bock dunkel.

The Einbecker brewery has been in existence since the 14th century, as evidenced by a bill from 1378 for a beer delivery to Celle. Exports abroad also began very early on.
Another very traditional german brew for todays beersaturday challenge. So all I had to do now was to prepare a glass with proper #icecubes and start the tasting.
The brewery states about their bockbier: "Dark barley malt gives Ur-Bock Dunkel a rich mahogany color and brings out sweet roasted aromas with notes of chocolate and vanilla." I tell you guys: thats not a lie! I mean look at that colour! Although I rather consider it amber, it is just beautiful.

Also the foam is - as far as my bock-experienxces have grown - 'typically' creamy and rich. It almoust feels like a beery icecream in your mouth. Soft, thick, slightly sweet but still very tangy-beer-like. First time in my life I really enjoyed the beer foam as a valuable add on.

So alltogether that beer underlined my new passion for bockbier. Really - I am a bit in love with that kind of beer that delivers full and rich taste in the same moment with a refreshing experience. Next week we will see how a third one of these kind will perform. Stay tuned!
