Arrival in England: 873 CE.

Layla returned to the Animus after reviewing a mysterious message, leading to Eivor's arrival in England in 873 CE. Upon finding the river blocked by a massive chain, Eivor volunteered to go ashore alone. Utilizing Synin for scouting and stealthy aerial paths, I began assassinating the camp's defenses to clear the way.

After I was satisfied exploring around the small cabin in the woods, I decided to go back to the Animus to continue the journey. While Rebecca was mentioning that the trip from Norway to England takes about a week by longship, she noted she would just grab the data ahead to save time.

Layla was still feeling the shake inside her head from the bleeding effect, and then she asked Rebecca if she could play the message again to find some clarity. Shaun mentioned they had already transcribed the audio if Layla was looking for something specific, but she insisted on hearing the original recording one more time.

Before getting back into the Animus, she listened closely to the recording that led them to this burial site. After hearing the special message that mentioned Eivor, the Wolf-Kissed, Layla finally felt ready to settle into the animus. The transition began, and the modern world faded away as the simulation initialized the lush, green landscapes of a new country.

It looked like the Raven Clan had finally reached England, and the interface confirmed it was 873 CE. The longships cut through the water of the river.

While the warriors reached England, Dag mentioned they would make this land their own soon enough. Eivor mentioned he was glad to see any land at all and would be happy to have feet on solid ground again.

They had been on the boat for a few weeks, and the constant rocking of the sea had made everyone restless.

While the warriors on the boat were having various conversations, they suddenly saw people drowning a dead body along the banks, while they had to reach a settlement further down the river.

Suddenly I noticed some kids were running through the shore and then some horse riders were also riding fast toward the nearby woods. Their hurried movements somehow told me there were problems around.

After rowing the boats for a moment, they found the way forward was blocked by a massive iron chain spanning the river. The obstacle was a clear sign of a local garrison's defense, and it was a tool they must remove before pressing on further inland.

Sigurd mentioned there must be a way to release the chain in the nearby camp, as the links were too thick for axes to break. So Eivor volunteered to go alone while the boat stayed behind in cover.

I climbed up this tree to get a better vantage point, and from what I could see, there was an archer on the tower nearby. I called Synin, my raven, to check out the place first and mark the locations of the other soldiers.

Then I assassinated that archer from the tower and pulled down his body all the way to the ground to keep the platform clear.

Now that I knew there were more enemy soldiers around, I started moving through aerial paths to take it slow and quiet. I didn't want to make a mess in a new land so early in our arrival.

That's all for now.

Excellent game story. The blocked river with that massive chain was a cool way to force a stealth approach instead of rushing in with the whole crew. Eivor going alone made the moment feel more strategic.

Using Synin to scout and then taking out the archer from the tower was a clean move. Starting with aerial paths and stealth kills was definitely the right call for clearing the camp quietly.

Your use of Synin was a smart play. In a new land where you don't know the layout, having that bird's-eye view is essential.
