My twined purpose : God and Family loh 285

As I look back, I realized my purpose as a single lady was founded on pleasing the Lord more with my life, just like the Bible puts it that an unmarried woman is concerned about the Lord’s affairs — how she can please the Lord. Since I became a parent, I now have a twine preoccupied purpose: fulfilling God's purpose for my life and taking care of my family; I feel like God entrusted me with the children's welfare.

How do I know this? Most of my decisions and choices revolve around and reveal me optimizing my children as number one before any other thing. I believe it's natural for a mother to feel this way.

Job description and location: It will have to be flexible enough for me to be not just available but present for my children. As a result of this, I have turned down offers that put me hundreds of miles away from my children, especially now that they are in their formative early years where embedding good character development is important. I even had to step down from a job offer so I could concentrate on taking care of my family. That job was not family friendly and highly demanding — even if you were sick, you must show up for work, even on weekends. There was no room for family bonding, and coupled with the fact I was pregnant then, they had zero consideration or empathy, so I left without thinking twice. Going forward I want a job that can help me balance my career and family life. At the end of the day, we are working for our family’s stability and comfort.

My priority and preference: I always want to see my kids doing fine in every aspect of their life. If they fall sick, it affects my own peace greatly. This shows that their well-being gives me lasting peace and happiness. Even with meal preparation, I have seen myself prioritize the nutritional needs and concerns of my children before mine. I ensure that their health and proper nutrition is not compromised. My children mean a lot and matter dearly to my life. They are like the wings I have to fly, perch and rest tomorrow. My spouse and I are doing our best to provide and equip them for the future by fulfilling our responsibilities as parents and caregivers, as they are still very young children. To ensure that they are loved, safe and protected always, whether they are home or outside.
