Anche se sono un po' al photofinish, spero di riuscire ad arrivare in tempo per partecipare a questa nuova tornata del contest di UNTO&BISUNTO.

Come avevo già accennato negli scorsi post dedicati a questo constest, ho avuto modo di partecipare ad un progetto molto particolare e, stavolta, cercherò di parlarne in modo più approfondito.

Sto parlando di @selenya, un progetto iniziato anni fa e, purtroppo rimasto incompleto.

Cosa è Selenya?

Selenya è un mondo fantastico, un'isola suddivisa in sei nazioni. Ogni nazione ha la luna di un colore specifico e ogni colore corrisponde a un autore che racconta e descrive il proprio mondo fantastico.
Sono sei storie diverse, ambiente nello stesso tempo e nello stesso universo, ma diverse eppure intrecciate per diventare una storia unica.

Come è iniziata.

Qui nasce la comunità... in realtà il mio ingresso è stato successivo alla creazione del progetto. Un giorno, girovagando nella comunità italiana di Steemit (ero là prima del trasloco in blocco qua su Hive) mi imbatto in un contest. Lo scopo era... scrivere un racconto sulla base di alcune caratteristiche specifiche. Il vincitore avrebbe fatto parte di un progetto più ampio. Beh... ovviamente ho provato a scrivere il mio racconto e l'ho sottoposto al giudizio del gruppo.
Sinceramente non credevo di riuscire a vincerlo, ma era comunque un modo per creare un piccolo post per farmi conoscere meglio dalla comunità e, perchè no, raccogliere qualche upvote per aumentare il mio wallet di scarsissimo valore.

Ho scelto un colore, ho creato il mio regno, alcuni personaggi e mi sono buttata. Quel giorno è nata Porpuraria.

Il gruppo di lavoro

Non conoscevo le persone che facevano parte del gruppo, o meglio, avevo visto passare i loro post nella comunità, ma non avevo mai interagito con loro.
Come sempre, la prima difficoltà è rompere il ghiaccio e iniziare ad ingranare. Fortunatamente tutti quanti siamo persone alla mano, che avevano voglia di fare bene e lavorare duramente.

Avevamo una trama di base, del tipo... in tot capitoli devi far accadere questo. Sei libero di fare quello che vuoi basta che rispetti i tempi.
Ci facevamo da correttori di bozze l'un l'altro e, disgraziatamente per me, ho scoperto che il mio meraviglioso accento senese e il mio scrivere come parlo, non era così comprensibile come mi avevano insegnato a scuola.

Cioè... si capisce, ma uso parole o modi di dire che, così mi è stato detto, sono dialettali e non italiano corrente. Ammetto che è stato davvero un grosso ostacolo da superare, ma il mio correttore di bozze è stato davvero paziente e fantastico e mi ha permesso di riuscire a scrivere cose davvero belle.

Cosa abbiamo fatto

In totale siamo riusciti a creare 11-12 capitoli ciascuno. Una parte scritta in singolo e una parte scritta in coppia. Abbiamo cercato dei disegnatori per farci creare le copertine e le firme e abbiamo acquistato le loro opere per usarle per tutta la durata del progetto.
Le ho riproposte qua, proprio per ringraziarli nuovamente per il loro talento e per ricordarli insieme agli scrittori che con me hanno partecipato e che ormai non scrivono più qua.

Purtroppo il libro a 12 mani su Selenya non è mai stato portato a termine. Nella pagina di @selenya potete trovare tutti i link ai capitoli del progetto. I nomi degli scrittori e tutto quello che è stato fatto in concreto.

Tornando al Contest

Questo è uno degli eventi della mia vita che mi hanno fatto sentire parte di qualcosa di importante. Che mi hanno permesso di lasciare qualcosa di bello nel mondo e mi hanno fatto conoscere persone che hanno lasciato un segno e un ricordo che non scomparirà mai.

As I mentioned in previous posts dedicated to this contest, I had the opportunity to participate in a very special project, and this time I will try to talk about it in more detail.

I am talking about @selenya, a project that began years ago and, unfortunately, remained incomplete.

What is Selenya?

Selenya is a fantasy world, an island divided into six nations. Each nation has a moon of a specific colour, and each colour corresponds to an author who narrates and describes their own fantasy world.
There are six different stories, set in the same time and universe, but different yet intertwined to become a single story.

How it started.

This is where the community was born... actually, I joined after the project was created. One day, while wandering around the Italian Steemit community (I was there before the mass move here to Hive), I came across a contest. The aim was... to write a story based on certain specific characteristics. The winner would be part of a larger project. Well... obviously I tried to write my story and submitted it to the group for judgement.
Honestly, I didn't think I would win, but it was still a way to create a small post to make myself better known to the community and, why not, collect a few upvotes to increase my very low-value wallet.

I chose a colour, created my kingdom and some characters, and threw myself into it. That day, Porpuraria was born.

The working group

I didn't know the people who were part of the group, or rather, I had seen their posts in the community, but I had never interacted with them.
As always, the first difficulty is breaking the ice and getting started. Fortunately, we are all easy-going people who wanted to do well and work hard.

We had a basic plot, like... in a certain number of chapters, you have to make this happen. You are free to do what you want as long as you stick to the schedule.
We proofread each other's work and, unfortunately for me, I discovered that my wonderful Sienese accent and my writing style, which reflects the way I speak, were not as understandable as I had been taught at school.

I mean... it's understandable, but I use words or expressions that, I've been told, are dialectal and not standard Italian. I admit it was a really big hurdle to overcome, but my proofreader was really patient and fantastic and allowed me to write some really beautiful things.

What we did

In total, we managed to create 11-12 chapters each. Some were written individually and some were written in pairs. We looked for illustrators to create the covers and signatures and purchased their works to use for the duration of the project.
I have reposted them here to thank them once again for their talent and to remember them along with the writers who participated with me and who no longer write here.

Unfortunately, the 12-handed book on Selenya was never completed. On the @selenya page, you can find all the links to the chapters of the project, the names of the writers, and everything that was actually done.

Back to the Contest

This is one of the events in my life that made me feel part of something important. It allowed me to leave something beautiful in the world and introduced me to people who have left a mark and a memory that will never fade.
