Homes of the forest folks
This is what I accomplished for my entry to the Forest Folk world building contest of cabalen on Draw aDay community. This is related to the previous forestfolk drawing contest where we somehow past contestants had shown our own ideas of the forest folks. My characters are fun loving festival enthusiasts who create fireworks and wear out of this world outfits
Here I attached an image of my forest folks so you have an idea about my festival goers.
The houses I made mimics the rockets that my folks light up during festivals. Conical in shape very narrow and are perched on stilts or any platform to give them height because the ground they stand on is hilly. I made winding paths that connect the houses forming a village. All around are cliffs with tall trees. That is the idea for the houses on top of high places conducive for testing rockets and fireworks
This is my very rough sketch of what I want to achieve I am thankful I finished in a short period of time not how I expected it. This kind of drawing could go in any direction albeit I have a rough guide. I guess I was in a good mood and it ended well hope you like it
You are on it once again hey this is such a whimsical and imaginative piece marsi. The houses nestled amongst the trees is just enchanting. I love the unique shapes and details you've included in the architecture they really bring your fantasy world to life. The starry night sky adds a lovely touch of magic too cool #worldbuilding indeed.
I know this is your style but you might want to consider experimenting with adding some subtle shading or an overlay on your future pieces to give more depth and dimension. You are already adding light source maybe you can try my suggestion. This could help certain elements pop. Keep up the wonderful work
