Your desire to improve your self-esteem would certainly help you to achieve many things, I think the fact of knowing that you are good at doing them is very valuable, as well as getting out of the comfort zone, as you say, it is important to take risks and to live long enough and that is where the greatest learning comes from to feel fulfilled with yourself, thank you for sharing your experiences,
