I agree with you. If we ask God for forgiveness for our offenses, we should also forgive, even when it's difficult and people don't ask for it, as you say, so we don't lose our peace. It's great that you made peace with your friend. Your decision to take care of yourself is great, as is your friend's advice. Thank you for sharing your experiences.
