Greetings, friends of the #LadiesofHive community, with this week's edition, where we're invited to reflect with questions from our dear @marivic10, here's my participation:
What was the first dessert or sweet recipe you learned to make? We'd love for you to share it with everyone.
I remember the first sweet recipe I learned was rice pudding. My mother, may God rest her soul, taught me how to make it. I'm sharing the recipe with you:
Ingredients:
One coconut
1 cup of rice
1 cup of powdered milk
1/2 panela of brown sugar
3 pieces of cinnamon stick
5 cloves
Preparation:
In a pot, boil the papelón rice with enough water, the grated coconut pulp, cinnamon sticks, and cloves. Once the rice is cooked thoroughly, until it begins to bloom, as my mother would say, we drain a little of the cooking water and blend it with the milk. This secret is what gives the dessert its thickness and creamy flavor.
This dessert was a tradition in my mother's kitchen during Holy Week, especially on Holy Thursday. We would wake up to the aroma throughout the house and that feeling of family comfort.
As I've mentioned in other posts, during the pandemic, my daughter and I worked preparing and selling homemade desserts, highlighting the delicious flavor of these sweets in the recipes, using quality ingredients, and taking care with the presentation and design. I've shared some dessert recipes in the creative cooking community on Hive. The first dessert I learned to make was the strawberry cream pie.
If you were told you'd won a scholarship to study or learn something new, what would you like to learn and why?
What I would like to study and learn as a new profession is fashion design. I believe it's not just about aesthetics; it's a tool for innovation and finding my calling. It's an ecosystem that can be very creative for me. I love clothes and always try to dress in a coordinated way as much as possible.
I believe that the external projection of our personality is the perfect tool to show others what we look like, whether it's appropriate or appropriate for our age. Good taste in choosing the quality of fabrics and colors is what will always make us elegant, and especially wearing what makes me feel comfortable.
So, obtaining the Professional Certification in Fashion Design is an intensive two-year degree at a private university in my country, to discover what kind of designer I want to be and become the leader the industry needs.
It would allow me to develop a strategic vision (business, marketing, and management). It would allow me to be part of a creative community where networking is key, as well as to feel creative confidence driven by the support of expert mentors.
It would be a new challenge for me if I were to obtain a scholarship and hope that my ideas would not only come to life, but also have an impact with excellence.

En una olla colocamos el papelón a hervir con suficiente agua, la pulpa rallada del coco, la canela en rama y los clavos. Una vez que el arroz está bien cocido, hasta que comience a florear decía mi madre, le extraemos un poco del agua de cocción para licuar con la leche, este secreto es lo que le dará el espesor y ese sabor cremoso al dulce.
Este dulce era la tradición en la cocina de mí madre en semana santa, en especial el jueves santo, nos despertábamos con el aroma en toda la casa y esa sensación de comodidad familiar.
Como lo he comentado en otras publicaciones, durante la pandemia, mi hija y yo trabajábamos preparando y vendiendo postres caseros, resaltando el delicioso sabor de estos dulces en las recetas, utilizando ingredientes de calidad y cuidando la presentación y el diseño. He compartido algunas recetas de los postres en la comunidad de cocina creativa en Hive. El primer postre que aprendí hacer fue el pastel de fresas con crema.
Si te dijeran que has ganado una beca para estudiar o aprender algo nuevo, ¿qué te gustaría aprender y por qué?
Lo que me gustaría estudiar y aprender como un oficio nuevo es el diseño de moda, creo que no sólo es estético, es una herramienta para innovar y buscar vocación, es un ecosistema que puede ser muy creativo para mí, me encanta la ropa y siempre trato en lo posible de vestirme combinada.
Creo que la proyección externa de nuestra personalidad, es el instrumento perfecto para mostrar a los demás cómo somos y de acuerdo o a nuestra edad, el buen gusto en elegir la calidad de las telas y los colores es lo que siempre nos hará elegante y en especial llevar lo que me haga sentir cómoda.
Entonces obtener la Certificación Profesional Diseño de Moda es una carrera intensiva de 2 años, en una Universidad privada de mi país, para descubrir qué tipo de diseñador quiero ser y convertirme en el líder que la industria necesita.
Me permitiría desarrollar una visión estratégica (negocios, marketing y gestión). Ser parte de una comunidad creativa donde el networking es clave, así como sentir confianza creativa impulsada por el acompañamiento de mentores expertos.
Sería un nuevo reto para mí, si obtuviera una beca y que mis ideas no solo cobren vida, sino que impacten con excelencia.
