Greetings, friends of the #LadiesofHive community! This week's edition invites us to reflect on the questions posed by our esteemed @merit.ahama. Here is my contribution:
1. The year has just begun! What have you decided to let go of to have a better year? Have you already noticed any small gains? If it's too early, simply share what you chose to post
I believe the new year is another opportunity to transform life, home, and work into something different.
First of all, given the current situation we Venezuelans are experiencing, writing these lines helps me in a way, filling me with willpower and determination so I can regain control during these difficult and anxious moments. I try to analyze them calmly, continue my walking routine, and maintain a proper diet, which is essential for regaining energy and changing my course.
Throughout my life, I've felt that if I'm not always doing something, I'm wasting time. I've been a busy woman professionally, which has been good, but it also often led me to make so many promises to myself that I later realized I couldn't keep them.
In my case, one of the problems is feeling the responsibility to take care of others, and that makes me believe that I must always be competent and reliable with those around me, with fear of deviating from that path for some reason.
So when I don't check with myself whether I want to or can actually keep my promises, it somehow leads me to overcommit myself and ultimately makes me feel bad, and at the same time it has created a problem of self-esteem and despair.

When I've stopped to think about what I've decided to let go of to have a better year, it's been about releasing those promises, letting go of the bad feelings I've had when someone takes notice and trusts me enough to ask me to do something, and my fear of not being able to do it.
Anyway, as I begin this new year, I allow myself the space to review beforehand whether I want to and can keep a promise that is good for both myself and others. I also make sure not to let my patience reach its limit, to set boundaries, to say no without feeling guilty. How many times have I gone through things and faced them without complaining? I can see that others must do the same; they must grow and evolve.
I focus on calming my soul and spirit with good music, especially songs of praise to God, because prayer is comforting, and I know that whoever sings praises to our Creator prays twice.
2. We all have favorite foods, but not everyone enjoys cooking them. What's that dish you love to make? Share the dish, your experience, and highlight an ingredient that makes it special. Recipes are welcome!
My favorite dish to make is Pasta with Alfredo sauce. Although there are several ways to prepare it, I'm sharing my favorite recipe:
Ingredients:
3 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons olive oil
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 cups heavy cream
100g bacon
1 can corn
1 can cream
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
3/4 cup mozzarella cheese.

Preparation:
In a skillet, melt the butter and olive oil over low heat. Once melted, add the garlic, onion, finely chopped bacon, heavy cream, and pepper. Continue cooking over low heat, stirring constantly with a wooden spoon.
Add the grated Parmesan cheese and corn. Continue cooking over low heat for about 8 to 10 minutes, until the sauce thickens and reaches a smooth consistency.
Finally, add the mozzarella cheese, stirring constantly to prevent the sauce from burning. Let it rest for another 5 minutes, and it's ready.
I served it with meat, my favorite dish. Every ingredient in this recipe is important for making it delicious, but I think it's the mozzarella cheese that makes it special.

Creo que el año nuevo es una oportunidad más para convertir la vida, el hogar, el trabajo en algo distinto.
Primero ante toda esta situación que estamos viviendo los venezolanos, ya el escribir estas líneas me ayuda en cierta forma, buscando llenarme de voluntad y decisión para que pueda recuperar el control ante los momentos complicados, de angustia, intentar analizarlos con serenidad, continuar con mi rutina de caminar, con alimentación adecuada, tal necesario para recuperar energías y además cambiar mi rumbo fijo.
En mi vida he sentido que si no estoy haciendo siempre algo, estoy perdiendo el tiempo, he sido una mujer que he estado ocupada laboralmente y eso ha sido bueno, pero también me llevaba en muchas ocasiones a hacerme tantas promesas que después me daba cuenta de que no podía cumplirlas.
En mi caso, uno de los problemas es sentir la responsabilidad de cuidar a los demás, y eso me hace creer que debo ser siempre competente y confiable con los de mí entorno, con temor a desviarme de esa ruta por algún motivo.
Entonces cuando no verifico conmigo misma si quiero o en realidad puedo cumplir mis promesas, eso me lleva de algún modo a que además de que me comprometo demasiado y en última instancia, me hace sentir mal y al mismo tiempo me ha llegado a crear un problema de autoestima y desesperación.

Cuando me he detenido a pensar en lo que he decidido dejar ir para tener un año mejor, sería tratar de soltar esas promesas, para dejar ir lo mal que me he sentido cuando alguien se fija y confía para pedirme que haga algo y mi temor a no poder hacerlo.
De todos modos al iniciar este nuevo año me permito darme ese espacio para revisar antes si quiero y puedo cumplir una promesa que sea buena tanto para mí y para los demás. Así como no dejar que mi paciencia llegue al límite, poner freno, decir no sin sentirme culpable, cuantas veces he pasado por cosas y sin quejarme las he enfrentado, pues así también puedo ver que los demás deben hacerlo, deben crecer y evolucionar.
Enfocarme en Calmar mi alma y mi espíritu con una buena música en especial las canciones de alabanzas a Dios, pues la oración es reconfortante y sé que quien canta alabanzas a nuestro creador ora dos veces.
2. Todos tenemos comidas favoritas, pero no a todos nos gusta cocinarlas. ¿Cuál es esa comida que te encanta preparar? Comparte el plato, tu experiencia y destaca un ingrediente que la hace especial. ¡Se aceptan recetas!
La comida que me encanta preparar es una Pasta con salsa Alfredo, aunque hay varias maneras de preparar, les comparto la receta de mi favorita:
Ingredientes:
3 cucharadas de mantequilla.
2 cucharadas de aceite de oliva.
2 dientes de ajo picados.
2 tazas de crema de leche espesa.
100 gm de tocineta
1 lata de maíz
1 lata de crema de leche
1/4 cucharadita de pimienta.
1/2 taza de queso parmesano rallado.
3/4 taza de queso mozzarella.

Preparación:
En una sartén derrite la mantequilla junto al aceite de oliva a fuego bajo. Cuando esté listo, añade el ajo y la cebolla y la tocineta finamente picada, la crema de leche y la pimienta, y continúa cocinando a fuego lento, sin dejar de revolver, siempre usando una cuchara de palo.
Agrégale el queso parmesano rallado y el maíz. Continúa con la cocción a fuego lento por unos 8 a 10 minutos aproximadamente; hasta notar como la salsa se pone espesa y con una consistencia suave.
Para terminar, agrega el queso mozzarella, sin dejar de revolver constantemente, para que la salsa no se queme en el fondo. Déjala conservar por otros 5 minutos y listo.
En mi caso la serví con carne, como mi plato favorito. Cada ingrediente que se combina en esta receta es importante para hacerlo delicioso, pero creo que es el queso mozzarella el que la hace especial.
