Saludos a todos, amigos de la comunidad de #AmazingNature , con el reto que nos traen en este Concurso del mes de Marzo especialmente con nuestra querido amigo @biologistbrito, para invitarnos a escribir sobre: "Desafío Flora y Fauna", es una actividad que nos invita a salir a la naturaleza y encontrar un animal y una planta para nuestra creación de contenido, a continuación le dejo mi participación:

Es la primera vez que escribo en esta increíble Comunidad y aprovechando que estuve disfrutando unas vacaciones junto con mi hija en contacto con lo que más me gusta, que es el mar, tengo la oportunidad de viajar a la playa, me queda a una hora en carro.
Aunque confieso que no sé nadar, pues le tengo mucho respeto al mar, (por no decir temor), pero el sólo hecho de tener esa conexión del viento, el ruido de las olas y la luz del sol, me llena de gran relax y felicidad.

El lugar donde pernoctamos es un Club ubicado en el Estado La Guaira en Venezuela, en ésta época era temporada baja y disfrutamos de todas las instalaciones: piscinas, acceso a la playa y una hermosa vista al Mar Caribe, un pequeño paraíso tropical, así como de las áreas de caminera, con gran variedad de plantas, flores y árboles.

La Garza Blanca

En ese entorno de vegetación hay un parque con un lago, donde vimos una hermosa Garza blanca, y su presencia es señal de una buena salud del ecosistema, por su aporte al controlar poblaciones de peces, pequeños anfibios e insectos, pues ella actúa como un equilibrio biológico de plagas. Ella es toda una modelo, se quedó quieta y lista para que le tomáramos las fotos, lo que me encanta de esta ave es su tamaño y color blanco.

Cuando me di a la tarea de buscar información en Internet, pude leer el resumen del Cuento "Una garza blanca", escrito por Sarah Orne Jewett, el cual les comparto:

Sylvia , una niña solitaria, deja la ciudad para vivir con su abuela en el campo, donde encuentra paz en la naturaleza. Conoce a un ornitólogo/cazador que busca ejemplares raros para su colección y ofrece dinero por encontrar a la garza blanca.

Sylvia avista el nido desde lo alto de un gran pino, pero al ver la belleza del ave y la naturaleza, decide no revelar su ubicación, valorando la vida del animal sobre la recompensa económica y la amistad del cazador.
Sin duda es un cuento de amor por la naturaleza, la ecología y el crecimiento personal.

También existen leyendas latinoamericanas, particularmente en el Amazonas, sobre "La Garza Blanca", que narran historias mitológicas sobre la transformación de seres humanos en aves debido a la envidia o el amor.

Los pobladores indígenas consideran que cuando sobrevuela hogares, avisa su presencia, y los niños suelen pasar saliva al escucharla para no atragantarse con alguna espina al comer pescado.

Me llama la atención la descripción del simbolismo, se considera un ave de gran significado espiritual, uniendo el mundo material y espiritual, a menudo asociado con la tranquilidad y la sabiduría.

Así como también su hábitat natural, el entorno físico donde vive, donde se alimenta y se reproduce, por ser una especie que acompaña al ganado, beneficiando el ecosistema al controlar insectos y pequeños roedores, pues junto a ella estaba su amiga la Iguana, quien también se dejó tomar unas fotos.

La Palmera

Con relación a la flora, en este lugar por el clima tropical, se pueden apreciar varias plantas, las más originarias son las palmeras, las hojas en forma de pluma y los troncos anillados, este tipo de árbol se denomina Palma Real, son muy característicos de climas tropicales y cálidos, algunas hojas están amarillentas o secas, lo cual refleja que es un proceso natural de renovación de la palma.

En la imagen se observan copas de árboles que no son palmeras, algunas de la especie de Frangipani (Plumería) y Chaguaramos o especies que resisten tanto periodos de sequía como de lluvia intensas. Esta combinación de flora le da un colorido y ambiente fresco a este maravilloso a este lugar, ideal para purificar el aire, eliminar toxinas, aumentan los niveles de oxígeno, alivian el estrés por su apariencia relajante, por lo que atraen vibraciones positivas.

Por lo que he leído en Google, es la planta más emblemática de la zona, una palma esbelta que puede alcanzar hasta 30 metros de altura. Sus frutos nutritivos como los dátiles, que son ricos en fibras y antioxidantes, son ovalados y cambian de verde a marrón rojizo al madurar. Así como también es símbolo para los católicos conmemorar el Domingo de Ramos con olivos y palmas.

En la Biblia la palmera es símbolo de rectitud, la victoria, la resiliencia y prosperidad del justo, quien “florecerá como la palmera” al mantenerse firme en la fe. -Salmo 92-12.

En estos espacios tienen variedades de plantas como los cactus llamados Cardón con espinas, la Tuna:

Creo que esta actividad viene bien cargada de motivación junto con energía, pues para mí está acompañada de todas las vitaminas que necesita el alma y el corazón, porque ser feliz es decisión de cada una de nosotras como persona y que mejor que el contacto con lo natural, porque aprender a disfrutar de la vida es empezar a vivir y hasta sentir renacer con esos momentos.

Pienso que si la vida es efímera, los días son difíciles y extenuantes, el estrés es el mal de la era moderna, pero de todas maneras debes aprender a vivir con ello, a disfrutar de lo poco o mucho que tengo y así no dejar que las circunstancias te impidan vivir tu vida de manera alegre.

This is my first time writing in this incredible community. Since I’ve been enjoying a vacation with my daughter, spending time with what I love most—the sea—I’ve had the chance to visit the beach, which is just an hour’s drive away.Although I must confess that I don’t know how to swim—I have a lot of respect for the sea (not to say fear)—the mere fact of feeling that connection with the wind, the sound of the waves, and the sunlight fills me with deep relaxation and happiness.

The place where we spent the night is a club located in La Guaira State, Venezuela. Since it was off-season, we were able to enjoy all the facilities: swimming pools, beach access, and a beautiful view of the Caribbean Sea—a small tropical paradise—as well as the walking paths, which feature a wide variety of plants, flowers, and trees.

The White Heron

In that lush setting, there is a park with a lake where we saw a beautiful white heron. Its presence is a sign of a healthy ecosystem, thanks to its role in controlling populations of fish, small amphibians, and insects, as it acts as a biological pest control. It’s quite the model—it stayed still and ready for us to take its picture. What I love about this bird is its size and white color.

When I set about looking for information online, I came across a summary of the short story ‘A White Heron’, written by Sarah Orne Jewett, which I’d like to share with you:

Sylvia, a lonely girl, leaves the city to live with her grandmother in the countryside, where she finds peace in nature. She meets an ornithologist/hunter who is looking for rare specimens for his collection and offers money for finding the white heron.

Sylvia spots the nest from the top of a tall pine tree, but upon seeing the beauty of the bird and the natural surroundings, she decides not to reveal its location, valuing the animal’s life above the financial reward and the hunter’s friendship.
It is undoubtedly a tale of love for nature, ecology and personal growth.

There are also Latin American legends, particularly in the Amazon, about ‘La Garza Blanca’ (The White Heron), which recount mythological tales of humans being transformed into birds due to envy or love.

Indigenous people believe that when it flies over homes, it signals its presence, and children often swallow hard when they hear it so as not to choke on a bone whilst eating fish.

I am struck by the description of its symbolism; it is regarded as a bird of great spiritual significance, bridging the material and spiritual worlds, and is often associated with tranquillity and wisdom.

The same goes for its natural habitat—the physical environment where it lives, feeds and breeds—as it is a species that accompanies livestock, benefiting the ecosystem by controlling insects and small rodents; indeed, right beside it was its friend the iguana, who also allowed herself to be photographed.

The Palm Tree

As for the flora, due to the tropical climate in this area, various plants can be seen; the most native are the palm trees, with their feather-shaped leaves and ringed trunks. This type of tree is known as the Royal Palm; they are very characteristic of tropical and warm climates. Some leaves are yellowish or dry, which reflects the palm’s natural renewal process.

The image shows the crowns of trees that are not palm trees, including some frangipani (Plumeria) and chaguaramos—species that can withstand both periods of drought and heavy rain. This combination of flora brings color and a refreshing atmosphere to this wonderful place, ideal for purifying the air, eliminating toxins, increasing oxygen levels, and relieving stress through its soothing appearance, thereby attracting positive energy.

From what I’ve read online, it is the area’s most iconic plant, a slender palm tree that can grow up to 30 metres tall. Its nutritious fruits, such as dates—which are rich in fibre and antioxidants—are oval-shaped and change from green to reddish-brown as they ripen. It is also a symbol for Catholics, who commemorate Palm Sunday with olive branches and palm fronds.

In the Bible, the palm tree is a symbol of righteousness, victory, resilience and the prosperity of the righteous, who ‘shall flourish like the palm tree’ by remaining steadfast in their faith. – Psalm 92:12.

I believe this activity is brimming with motivation and energy, as for me it provides all the nourishment the soul and heart need; because being happy is a choice each of us makes as individuals, and what better way than to connect with nature? Learning to enjoy life means truly beginning to live, and even feeling reborn through those moments.

I think that whilst life is fleeting, the days are difficult and exhausting, and stress is the scourge of the modern age, you must still learn to live with it, to enjoy whatever little or much you have, and thus not let circumstances prevent you from living your life joyfully.
