"Data Analytics" Changed My Life

Theme-: “The Skill That Changed My Life." What was your life like before learning this skill? How did you learn it? What struggles did you face? How did it change your income, confidence, or mindset, and are you still improving it

Hello #indiaunited friends, trust your Valentine’s Day celebration and Holidays are going well. I welcome you to my blog.
Before now, I would say I have many skills, both hard and soft skills. But today, I can boast of adding two great skills to my portfolio, AI and Data Analytics.

Currently, everyone, including organisations are talking about the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, using Pivot, Power BI, Advanced Excel, etc. Initially, I ignored the trends and noise about it until the requirements for at least a beginner in Data Analytics or AI knocked me out of several polished professional engagements. At that point, I needed no one to tell me that it was time to jump into the class, whether online or offline, to start my training.

Before now, I confidently worked with Excel and Microsoft Visio and used advanced Excel to some extent to make my presentations and drive home my points. But surprisingly, the trend changed, and industry game changers requested better tools for data presentation, such as Power Bi and Pivot.

Inhouse Training

Initially, I requested a trial version of the software as advised by my colleague in the finance department, and downloaded the same from the Google App. Later, as I improved in my learning, it became obvious that I needed close guidance and tutoring. This was because I was having difficulties in formatting and chart presentation, so I requested an in-house tutor from the accounts department. At this point, some employees also indicated interest, and we all joined the class. This was in mid-2025.

My LinkedIn Client Service Request

Fast-forward to this year, I wrote my first online test on LinkedIn, though I didn’t make it, and I will need to retake it. I have improved my skills, but right now, I can use Data analytics for business insights presentations, drive home HR metrics, and analyse my weekly statistics data. I have also gotten some remote work that has added more funds to my monthly earnings and connected me to people of interest in LinkedIn client services.

In conclusion, Data analytics is my go-to skill for now. Though I have not arrived, I am still working in progress and better than who and where I was before now. A better version of myself.
