Shadow Hunters SMASh Contest - Round #422 Plant silhouettes [Eng/Esp]

Happy Monday, Shadow Hunters! I just got back from university, and the entire day, from morning until late afternoon, was under a relentless sun! The rainy season announcements only lasted a few days last week, which prevented me from finding good shade to share with you, but this week started off scorching hot. I finished my university business, preparing the schedule of activities, taking inventory of the necessary lab materials, and adjusting the times for our practical sessions—all under the blazing sun. I was so overwhelmed that I forgot to hunt for any shade and ended up returning home hot and ravenous.

At home, I was preparing lunch and bitterly remembered that I hadn't hunted for a single bit of shade the entire time I was at university. However, fate, or perhaps providence, granted me one last creative opportunity to get a shadow for this week's SMAH contest in its round#422. It turns out that while I was eating, I watched as the sun continued its relentless onslaught, seemingly in one last display of solar radiation before sunset and the eventual cessation of its fury. But just then, I glanced toward my balcony, saw the curtains, and the stark contrast created by the shadows of my plants against them, silhouetted against the incandescent fury of the afternoon sun.

You might think I don't take care of my plants, but I take great care of them all, especially during these dry season days when I knew we'd have these long, sunny days. That's why I water them frequently every day, and I have an awning to lessen the radiation, which is particularly strong in the late morning and throughout the afternoon. Since it was already late afternoon, the 4 pm sun was already positioned for sunset, but before that, it managed to take advantage of the clear sky and unleash all the light it could. So I decided to seize the moment. I drew the curtains as high as I could to see the shadows of my plants on them, and it looked incredible! The hanging pots are plants called "millionaires" here in Venezuela. Below are some of my lilies, ferns, and aloe plants; their combined shadows give the impression of a lush nursery.

And well, friends, that's how I was able to make the most of this Monday before nightfall. I love my plants, and whenever I can, I post about the care I give them. Feliz lunes comunidad de Shadow Hunters! Recien volvi de la universidad y todo el día desde la mañana hasta bien entrada la tarde estuvo bajo un sol implacable! Los anuncios de temporada de lluvia solo duro unos pocos días de la semana pasada, lo que me impidió conseguir buenas sombras para compartirles, pero esta semana la empezamos al rojo vivo. Terminé mis asuntos en la universidad, preparar el cronograma de actividades, hacer el inventario del material necesario para el laboratorio y ajustar los horarios que veríamos las prácticas y todo eso bajo un sol implacable. Estaba tan agobiado que olvidé cazar alguna sonbra en los alrededores y terminé regresando a casa acalorado y con mucha hambre.

En casa fui preparando el almuerzo y amargamente recordé que no había cazado ninguna sombra en todo el tiempo que estuve en la Universidad. Sin embargo el destino o quizás la providencia me regalo una última y creativa oportunidad de conseguir una sombra para el concurso SMAH de esta semana en su round#422. Resulta que mientras estaba comiendo veía como el sol seguía con su asedio incesante, parecía como que estaba en un último despliegue de radiación solar antes de la caída del ocaso y finalmente se aplacara su furia. Pero justo en ese momento vi hacia mi balcón, vi las cortinas y el fuerte contraste que generaba las sombras de mis plantas en las cortinas, quedando silueteadas ante la furia incandescente del sol de la tarde.

Podrías pensar que no cuido mis plantas, pero tengo un gran cuidado de todas ellas y sobre todo estos días de temporada seca que claramente sabía que tendría estos largos días soleados, por eso las riego con frecuencia todos los días y tengo un toldo para atenuar la radiación que es particularmente fuerte al final de la mañana y todo el medio día. Pero como ya era de tarde el sol de las 4 pm estaba ya en posición para el ocaso pero antes se las arregló aprovechando el cielo despejado descargó toda la radiación lumínica que pudo. Entonces decidí aprovechar el momento, corrí al máximo las cortinas para ver las sombras de mis plantas en las cortinas y se ve increíble! Las macetas que están colgando son plantas llamadas aquí en Venezuela como millonarias, abajo están algunos de mis lirios, helechos y también plantas de sábila sus sombras fusionadas dan la impresión de un vivero frondoso.

Y bien amigos, así pude aprovechar este lunes antes de que cayera la tarde. Me encantan mis plantas, siempre que puedo hago publicaciones del cuidado que tengo con ellas y el poder mostrarles la exuberancia de mis plantas a través de su sombra es una interesante perspectiva que he querido compartirles.
