My entry in the Friendlymoose new photo contest - Technology: Technological succession! [Eng/Esp]
Hey, friends of Photography! I warmly welcome you to my post and hope you're in good spirits during these first days of October. Today, following a call from our dear friend @friendlymoose to share some technological photography, I started looking in my room and found three technological objects from different eras. That's why I decided to title this post "Technological Succession."

Let me start with the first gadget, which is the most interesting: a mono AM radio! Oh yes, my friend, this is a Cold War object. My grandmother bought it after the critical moments of the Cuban Missile Crisis in 1962. Since then, she has always been prepared for a possible intercontinental missile exchange and how to prepare for such an event. That's why she acquired this small AM radio back in those years. It still works! The batteries are built in and are double AA. I used this interesting radio when we had the 4-day blackout in Venezuela and it didn't fail me.
Now we're 46 years after the Cold War, and we're in 2008, the year I bought my first and only iPod. It was the age of MP3 and digital music. I was very interested in purchasing this version of the iPod, not only because it was one of the first to play videos—imagine three years after the creation of YouTube! Those were definitely different times, but the real reason is its capacity: 80 GB, which has helped me back up almost all of my work material. As you can see, it's still working, and I've kept the original box that contained it as carefully as possible.

Finally, we landed in 2022 when I acquired my current smartphone, a Redmi 9C. In the age of algorithms and social media, for a long time I refused to accept this reality, but when I was appointed as Chair of the Chair, I was faced with the terrible reality that I needed to communicate almost in real time with my students and the professors under my supervision. This led me to accept this reality, and since then, it has been a tool in my daily activities at the university. Now that I'm in the hive, it's a vital complement to creating web content.
Well, friends, this was my contribution to the technology photography contest. It was a pleasure to create this kind of technological-temporal anthology and briefly describe how social reality was perceived at the time these gadgets came out. See you in the next contest! Best regards.

Que tal amigos de Photography! Les doy una cálida bienvenida a mi post y espero que se encuentren de buen ánimo en estos primeros días de Octubre. El día de hoy atendiendo al llamado que nos hace nuestro apreciado amigo @friendlymoose sobre compartir alguna fotografía tecnológica y entonces me puse a ver en mi cuarto y tenía 3 objetos tecnológicos de tiempos diferentes, por eso decidí titular este post como sucesión tecnológica.

Déjame comenzar por el primer gadget, que es el más interesante y se trata de una radio mono aural AM! Oh si amigo este es un objeto de la Guerra Fría mi abuela lo compró después de críticos momentos de la crisis de los misiles cubanos en 1962, desde entonces siempre se preparó para un eventual intercambio de misiles intercontinentales y como prepararse para enfrentar un suceso así, por eso adquirió esta pequeña radio AM en aquellos años. Aún funciona! Las pilas las lleva adentro y son doble AA, he usado este interesante radio cuando tuvimos el apagón de 4 días en Venezuela y no me falló.
Ahora vamos 46 años después de la guerra fría y nos ubicamos en el 2008, año en el que me compre mi primer y único ipod, eran los años del mp3 y la música digital. Yo estaba muy interesado en adquirir esta versión del ipod, no solo por ser de los primeros en reproducir videos, imagínense 3 años después de la creación de YouTube! Eran definitivamente otros tiempos, pero la verdadera razón es su capacidad, 80 GB que me han ayudado a respaldar casi todo mi material de trabajo y como puedes ver, aun esta funcionando y conservo lo más cuidado posible la caja original que lo contiene.

Por último aterrizamos en el 2022 cuando adquirí mi actual teléfono inteligente, un Redmi 9C. Los tiempos del algoritmo y las redes sociales, durante mucho tiempo me negué a esta realidad pero cuando fui investido con la autoridad de Jefe de Cátedra caí en la terrible realidad de que necesitaba comunicarme casi en tiempo real con mis estudiantes y los profesores que están bajo mi coordinación. Esto me llevo a aceptar esta realidad y desde entonces es una herramienta más en mis actividades diarias en la universidad y ahora que estoy en la hive es un complemento vital en la creación de contenido web 3.
Bien amigos, este fue mi aporte al concurso tecnológico de photografía, fue grato hacer esta especie de antología tecnológico-temporal y describir brevemente como se percibía la realidad social al momento en que salieron estos gadgets. Nos vemos en un próximo concurso! Saludos.

Me has evocado recuerdos y emociones con la vivencia relacionada con la crisis de los misiles.
No había visto esta iniciativa. Tengo que consultarla para comprobar si aún estoy a tiempo para participar jajaja...
