My #BeerSaturday Challenge! Week 455: My first Peregrina Märzen beer! [Eng/Esp]
Happy New Year, friends of Beer! Welcome to my first #BeerSaturday Challenge of the year, and of course, I couldn't start this post without inviting someone to join in on this fun initiative. So, I want to nominate my dear @rosmiapure to join us and review her favorite beer. She's amazing, and I'm sure she'll enjoy participating in our favorite challenge!
Okay, friends, I want to start by telling you that I did a massive beer purchase the last week of 2025 to be well-stocked, and one of the beer brands I had on my radar was Peregrina. I had to go all the way to the Sambil shopping mall in downtown Caracas to find it. What's so special about this brand? This brand started out as a small-batch brewery, and after a lot of hard work, they've managed to establish themselves in the Venezuelan market. They've truly done a great job offering a wide variety of beers to suit all tastes. I managed to get hold of every version they had for sale and decided to buy two of each.
As I've mentioned in previous posts, my appreciation for craft beers stems mainly from the major crisis we've been experiencing and, unfortunately, continue to experience. It all started with Tovar beer, brewed by the German community of Tovar, and from there I've discovered a great many craft beers! Regarding the Peregrina brand, this isn't my first time with this beer. I previously reviewed the only one I could find back in November 2025: the Peregrina German Pils, which I quite enjoyed. My only complaint was its 250ml size. I've included the link to that review in the image on the right. The beer I'm sharing with you today is from the same Peregrina family, but it's a Märzen-style beer, and it's the first time I've tried it. So I took advantage of my usual Saturday get-together with friends to sample this beer.
The first thing that stands out is the fantastic design of these beers; it has a very particular charm and is completely different from the classic design of commercial brands. In this case, we have a vibrant red label that highlights the type of beer we're tasting: Märzen! It was the first time I'd seen this label, and it literally means "March beer," one of the classic German beer styles associated with autumn and, of course, Oktoberfest.
The story behind this beer reminded me of an invitation one of my students extended to me at last year's Oktoberfest. Unfortunately, I didn't have the chance to attend this fantastic event in Colonia Tovar, but my student mentioned that this was the kind of beer he and his girlfriend had tried. Although I couldn't go, at least I had the opportunity to savor this beer. I chilled it for quite a while to enjoy it ice cold, and the first thing I noticed when pouring it was its dark color. This worried me for a moment because it reminded me of the Belga Star 10% beer I had reviewed previously, which was a real battle of endurance.
Once poured, I toasted with my friends from... I opened the bottle and took the first sips. The first thing I noticed was the malty aroma and a subtle hop scent. The flavor, with that first sip, confirmed its strong maltiness, and although its alcohol content was 5.1%, the bitterness was quite mild, making this beer, despite its sugarcane juice-like appearance, quite enjoyable.
It was a good idea to buy two of each type of beer because this one left a very good taste in my mouth, and I decided to open the second bottle of Peregrina Märzen while playing a few rounds of Splinterlands with my friends and talking about the game's updates. There's nothing better than enjoying a good beer while hanging out with friends, especially during the end-of-year holidays!
In short, friends, I enjoyed this Peregrina Märzen beer. The way it's brewed for the Caribbean market makes it quite accessible thanks to its smooth flavor and that characteristic, pleasant malty aroma. It costs $1.30, so it's not too expensive. It's expensive, but the problem lies in its limited distribution because it's a fairly small brewery. My rating for this beer is a solid 8/10; it's quite enjoyable, but for now, I'm putting it in second place because the German Pilsner is still my favorite. Feliz año amigos de Beer! Bienvenidos a mi primer #BeerSaturday Challenge del año y por supuesto no podía comenzar esta publicación sin antes invitar a alguien a tan divertida iniciativa, asi que quiero nominar a mi estimada @rosmiapure para que se incorpore y nos reseñe su cerveza favorita, ella es muy tremenda y estoy seguro que disfrutará participar en nuestro challenge favorito!
Bien amigos quiero empezar comentándoles que hice una compra masiva de cervezas las última semana del año 2025 para estar muy bien abastecido y una de la marca de cervezas que tenía en mi radar eran las cervezas Peregrina. Tuve que ir hasta el centro comercial Sambil en el centro de Caracas para poder encontrar esta marca. ¿Qué tiene de especial esta marca? pues esta marca comenzó siendo artesanal y luego de mucho esfuerzo se han logrado establecer en el mercado venezolano y de verdad que han hecho un gran trabajo para ofrecer una variedad amplia de cervezas para abarcar la mayor variedad de gustos. Logré conseguirlas todas las versiones que tenían a la venta y decidí comprar 2 de cada una.
Ya lo había dicho en publicaciones anteriores, mi gusto por las cervezas artesanales se debe principalmente por la gran crisis que vivimos y seguimos viviendo desgraciadamente. Todo empezó con la cerveza Tovar, manufacturada por la colonia alemana Tovar y a partir de allí he descubierto una gran cantidad de cervezas artesanales! Sobre la marca Peregrina, no es la primera vez con esta cerveza, ya había reseñado la única que pude encontrar por allá en el lejano noviembre del 2025: La Peregrina German Pils que disfrute bastante y solo me quejaba de su presentación de 250 mL, te dejo el enlace a esa reseña en la imagen de la derecha. La cerveza que te traigo hoy, es de la misma familia Peregrina solo que es una cerveza tipo Märzen y que es la primera vez que pruebo. Así que aproveche mi acostumbrada reunión con amigos del sábado para degustar esta cerveza.
Lo primero que destaca es el grandioso diseño de estas cervezas, tiene un encanto muy particular y es totalmente diferente al diseño clásico de las marcas comerciales. En este caso, tenemos una etiqueta rojo intenso que destaca el tipo de cerveza que estamos probando: Märzen! Era la primera vez que veía esta presentación y pues literalmente significa #cerveza de marzo" uno de los estilos de cerveza clásicos alemanes que esta ligado al otoño y por supuesto al Oktober fest.
La historia de esta cerveza me recordó la invitación que me había hecho uno de mis estudiantes en el Oktoberfest pasado, lementablemente no tuve la oportunidad de asistir a este genial evento en la Colonia Tovar pero precisamente mi estudiante me comentó que esta era la clase de cervezas que había probado con su novia. Aunque no pude ir al menos tengo la oportunidad de saborear esta cerveza, la deje enfriando bastante tiempo para disfrutarla bien fría y lo primero que me di cuenta al servirla fue si color oscuro, eso me preocupó por un momento porque me recordó el mismo aspecto de la cerveza Belga Star 10% que ya había reseñado anteriorm,ente y fue una verdadera batalla de resistencia.
Una vez servido, brinde con mis amigos del discord y les di los primeros sorbos, lo primero era el olor a malta y un aroma suave a lúpulo. El sabor con el primer sorbo confirmaba su fuerte composición maltosa y aunque su grado alcohólico era de 5.1% el amargor era bastante suave lo que hizo que esta cerveza a pesar de su aspecto de jugo de caña de azúcar fuera bastante disfrutable.
Fue buena idea comprar 2 cervezas de cada tipo porque me dejó un muy buen sabor de boca esta cerveza y decidí abrir la segunda botella de Peregrina Märzen mientras jugaba unas partidas de Splinterlands con mi amigos y hablábamos de las actualizaciones del juego. No hay nada mejor que tomarse una buena cerveza mientras compartes con amigos y sobre todo en los días de fiesta de fin de año!
En resumen amigos, disfrute esta cerveza Peregrina Märzen, la forma en la que esta elaborada para el público caribeño la hace bastante accesible por su suave sabor y ese gustoso aroma malteado que lo caracteriza. Su precio es de 1.3$ por lo que no es tan costosa, el problema radica en su escaza distribución por ser una compañía cervecera bastante pequeña. Mi nota para esta cerveza es de un sólido 8/10 es bastante disfrutable pero por ahora la coloco en segundo lugar porque la German Pils sigue siendo por ahora mi favorita. Aún me quedan 2 tipos de cervezas Peregrina por probar para los próximos #beersaturday challenge, espero traerles la siguiente para la próxima semana amigos. Les deseo un feliz fin de semana, salud!

Hola mi voz encantadora, no es que haya visto un video en este post, es que ya te he escuchado jejeje, Feliz año 2026, ya veo que disfruta muy bien con estas espumosas de calidad, siempre es bueno innovar en nuestras recreaciones, ir más allá, y sacar ese gran análisis que hiciste muy bien, querido amigo, así que cuando la vea por estos lares la compraré pues ya saber que las Cervezas son mi bebida favorita, hay tanta variedad pero siempre nos quedamos con la que manda jejeje. Hoy casualmente me encontré con estas cervezas en el supermercado Fresco Market de Club de Campo y me llamó la atención su presentación; le eché un ojo a los ingredientes, y su grado de alcohol y noté que tienen varias presentaciones y que están elaboradas en la Victoria, estado Aragua. Hoy no las pude comprar pero después de leer tu post me impulsa a querer hacerlo jajaja qué dura soy! La de miel me generó mucha curiosidad, estaré atenta a tu reseña.
